New /Old Kitchen Hutch

Good morning!
I am so excited I finally found a hutch ( in my price range ) :) with no doors! Yesterday Chelsea helped me paint this up.. she did a great job and it is amazing! .. I bought Rustoleum Chiffon Cream chalk paint and linked it in our Amazon shop here   It is the perfect cream color!
There are sped up videos on my Instagram and Facebook page of the painting and decorating!
I found the hutch on Craig's List .. it was for sale in a consignment shop about 20 minutes away ..
so I got it last week and couldn't wait to fix it up! For those that asked the old hutch is going to live at Chelsea's house .. I had that hutch for probably 24 years .. It was oak that we painted ..
Not only is there more display space with no doors .. the underneath has legs so it is a space to decorate also ..

Oh my gosh I cannot tell you how much I love it .. after I got the open family room hutch I was on a mission to get one for the kitchen .. but they are few and far between .. so I was so excited to find this one .. It did have some issues .. candle wax spilled all over .. writing on the shelves .. some dog teeth marks .. and a couple cracks that had to be filled with wood filler .. when you use chalk paint there is no prep work ..just paint .. she did 2-3 coats on the hutch and it took a whole can of paint  ..

I am just going to be standing in the kitchen all day starring at it :)
The top is flat so it is easier for all my chickens to be up on top .. I had issues with my old hutch because it sunk down so everything had to be raised up ..
It is perfect for my Rae Dunn collection ..
I left up the Winter decor and I can't wait to decorate this for spring !
I added 2 stitched pieces .. This Snowman grater

a vintage scale .. cow creamers ,,

I took one of the drawers from this wall shelf with me yesterday to match up the paint and after I got home I thought that would be a cute place for 3 mugs :) so I took out the drawers and it will be a cute spot to display the different seasons and holiday mugs!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Wreath Update and a Hutch full of Snowmen

Good morning!
Last year I finished up this Prairie Schooler Prairie Seasons Winter and used burlap to tie the stitching to the wreath .. I just wasn't feeling the burlap anymore so I took a trip to the basement and added a new ribbon for tying..
It is a red plaid flannel ribbon and I also added some of the light colored plaid ribbon for contrast.. the greenery and berry picks are just stuck through the wreath so they can be changed out..The old version of the wreath is below..
The hutch is filled with lots of snowmen .. most of them found while thrifting..

I was so lucky this week when I stopped into Homegoods and there were 2 Rae Dunn mixing bowls on the shelf .. I just told my daughter last week I needed to find some :) I still need the middle size , but I will find it!
On the back of the hutch is a vintage scale on a thrift store frame and some snowmen..

One of the little snowmen from the cabinet sits on a greenery wreath..
This hutch was oak and really ugly before it got painted with chalk paint and now it is an amazing part of the kitchen ..I tried to get rid of it on Craig's list for $50.00 before I painted it but no one would take it! On the top of the hutch is a greenery garland and a cotton stem garland with white lights woven through..A picnic basket from the thrift store and some cow creamers on top of that .. Also a collection of chickens ..one in a vintage galvanized bucket..

I love the revamped wreath and think it looks wonderful with all the rest of the kitchen goodies!
Have a wonderful day!

Book Page and Chalkboard Garland

 Good Morning!!

I did a little book page DIY  .. I was originally making a garland for my family room fireplace mantel .. but decided this was better for my kitchen hutch..
I cut 4 layers of flowers from an old book for each flower ..hot glued them together an added a white pom pom..
I made 2 separate garlands..one with the black gingham ribbon ..it has the little mini chalkboards on
and the second is a just the  book page flowers on twine ..
The little chalkboards are from the Target dollar spot.. They came 3 to a package for $1.00..in the eggs or bunnies.
The chalkboards have a clothespin on the back ( and are already painted) so I just clipped them on the ribbon..
I love how they look on the kitchen hutch!
