It's Memorial Day!

 Happy Memorial Day!
I had finished stitching Old Glory from Little House Needleworks the other night ..and this is how I finished it off.

 I had found this clipboard frame at Michael's a few weeks ago ( I know another clipboard frame from Michaels:) I loved how this stitched piece looked on it. I had trouble with the blue homespun check ..it would just cooperate and line up straight.I turned it sideways and the squares are on the diagonal now. it looks much better than crooked lines.

 It is sitting inside the boxwood wreath I made from clippings from our yard..and the dried hydrangea is also from our yard.

The bowl and the urn are from the Goodwill sitting on a vintage scale . The upside down basket is also from Goodwill.

Everything's Coming Up Daisies !

 Good Morning ! I hope all you Mom's had a wonderful Mother's Day !
 I saw this galvanized tiered tray on Instagram ..It came from Sam's club for $24.00..I have wanted the pottery barn version which is so much more expensive for a while so we ran to our Sam's club to see if they had them ..

 I filled mine with daisies , mason jars, cups and saucers with birds nest , a little chicken pitcher , birds and greenery ..

 I have so many ideas of how to fill it for the coming seasons !

 I also added some daisies to the vintage scale vignette on my kitchen counter..A yellow check tea towel and a hydrangea in a mason jar..

 Love all the daisies with the yellow in the kitchen !

May Stitching

 Good Morning ! I finished stitching up the May With Thy Needle and Thread Wordplay last night.

 This morning I got it ironed and mounted .. I used blue ticking fabric for the background and for a covered button for the little burlap flower. Its mounted with a magnet and a piece of sheet metal to this thrifted silver tray . You can see April, March and February by clicking on the links..

 I changed one of the words to a couple more bees.. The bees are the cutest things !

It is all done in DMC floss ..I have started on the Country Cottage Needleworks May Cottage , but not too much progress yet !

Fall Dining Room and Two Cross Stitch Finishes

Good Morning.. Hope you are all having a great week so far!

 

When we remodeled our living room / dining room , we got a new dining room set. I hadn't decorated the shelves of the hutch until yesterday .. My daughter was digging around in our basement and found some of my old dishes. They are cream colored  Pfaltzgraff  with grapes and leaves..I wanted plain cream ones to display but these are free :) .

 

 I added the decomesh garland I had made for over our foyer mirror, but that got taken down with the remodel , so it fits perfectly over the hutch. Its dark brown decomesh, burlap ribbon, sunflowers , berries and leaves,,

 I moved the Pumpkin cottage cross stitch piece from the foyer and added a silver tray with a glitter pumpkin , sunflowers and dried hydrangea.

 I added a couple pumpkins, pumpkin plates , a vintage blue mason jar, and a basket of dried hydrangeas to the inside of the hutch.

 A little fall vignette on the server.. plates stacked with a pumpkin, ivy, sunflowers, and those green floral balls, in a wrought iron basket.

On the table is a big cloche with pumpkins , lace, dried hydrangeas and berries on a silver tray.

I had finished stitching 2 fall cross stitch pieces , I found the frame below at the good will, for $3.99. I took out the glass and just left the frame and matting in . II then attatched the stitching to foam board and glued it to the frame mat. I wrapped a piece of twine around the bottom and glued twine to a button to make a flower.This stitching is a free pattern from with thy needle and thread blog . I love how it turned out.

 

 
 
 

 
 

For the next stitched piece, Homespun Elegance , delivering Autumn.. , I bought a cutout wood shape at Michaels. I painted it with chalkboard paint . Then glued the stitched piece to the chalkboard and added some doodles with chalk. I love how they both turned out.

Crocheted Pumpkins In My Fall KItchen

 Good Monday Morning ! I am taking you on a little kitchen tour today of my Fall decorating. I made those little white crochet pumpkins , they are so cute and fast to make ! I have a silver tray that I used chalkboard paint on ( got the tray at Goodwill) .. I used that as a base for a cake stand with pumpkins and a silver bowl ( from Goodwill) that I placed raffia in some fall leaves and the crocheted pumpkins.

 

The apple cider sign ( a gift from My Connecticut sister in law) , the cute pumpkin plate , and some fall leaves and berries with a burlap bow, are decorating my shelf.

 The top of my hutch got decorated with a fall garland .. love the sunflowers, and another chalkboard painted tray for the Goodwill .

 My tiered wrought iron basket got a velvet pumpkin and some fall florals in the bottom and a basket of dried hydrangeas in the top

 

I love these little pumpkins in their silver tray .. To make the pumpkins use a size H hook.. chain 16 single crochet in each chain .*.chain 1 turn.. single crochet in back loop only across* ..repeat until   you have 26 rows.. slip stitch together to form a little tube. Sew up bottom end , stuff , I used a stick for the stem . sew up top of pumpkin with stick inside. Use green yarn , chain 4 slip stitch in first chain.. to make a loop. chain 8 sc in loop 8 times. Sew to top.

 By the sink I have this vignette ,the vintage scale with a wire cloche , There is an owl mug under the cloche surrounded by dried hydrangeas. A sweater pumpkin, sunflowers, a fall towel and 2 little owls complete the vignette. Still picking zinnias ! Love them !

 On the kitchen  table I used my Fall Subway Art Tablerunner   ..An owl cookie jar on a pedestal with fall leaves and mason jars filled with candy corn and candles.

 

This weekend we went down to Kentucky to go to the Uk game.. My son is #90 , he is redshirting again this year , but at least this year he gets to be on the sidelines .. He is chasing his dream and we are supporting him all the way ! Hopefully next year it will happen.

 The stands were packed and we were in the 7th row.. I couldn't resist taking some photos of the cheerleaders "flying "!
