Queen Bee Flower Farm!!!

 Good morning!
WooHOO!!!
I am so excited to share the Queen Bee Flower Farm with you! This is the 2nd in the Chalk on the Farm series ..my chalkboard to cross stitch collaboration with Hands On Design..and it is so
 A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
The chalkboards that were charted for cross stitch by Cathy at Hands on Design ..
Both pieces all stitched up and ready for display
I used the same frame I bought at Hobby Lobby that the first Chalk on the Farm ..Fresh Eggs Farm was mounted on ..Mine is stitched on 28 count black Monaco ..I used magnets on the back of the big piece because there is metal on the frame .. the top I used a magnet glued onto the frame and a metal washer on the back of the stitching ..This piece hangs on the dining room wall right off the kitchen ..
You can preorder these or get on a list at your LNS to get it as soon as they get them .. we are doing a stitchalong with the hashtag #pcQueenBee ..it is a start it when you get it stitchalong ..no start date or end date..
 Look at that cute cow!
Did you see her ?!? Ronnie is there behind the truck
It is so wonderful and I can't wait to see you all stitching it!
Thanks so much for your visit! Hope you love it!

Quilt-A-Rama!

Good morning! There has been some quilting happening around here!I was the lucky recipient of a jelly roll from Fran .. one of our Floss tube viewers.. Thank you again Fran if you read my blog ...it was so kind of you to send that!)so I had to get busy and use that Jelly roll.. :)
I bought 2 white fabric jelly rolls from Joanne Fabrics.. ( who knew they had those ) :)and one more of the Vintage Picnic Rolls to make this twin size quilt .. we made it in 2 days ..could have probably made it in less time but I ran out of fabric and ordered the 2nd jelly roll.. I stitched them on muslin squares ..Chelsea is doing hers on freezer paper but I didn't like that ..so muslin squares were easier for me . This is so easy to make because you go right to sewing .. the only cutting is after you make the squares.
I bought the backing fabric at Joanne fabrics .. not a perfect match but its pretty and spring /summer colors.. I love this quilt and have it draped on the back of the living room sofa ...Chelsea suggested I use the strips sewn together for the binding so that is what I did .. for the quilting I machine quilted the big squares and that is it.. I might go back and do a little more I haven't decided ..
This is Chelsea's string quilt fabrics that she is using .. I am looking for this fabric now to make another quilt with a jelly roll .. This line of fabric is Farmers Daughter.. so pretty!
The quilt I made before that is this one in all the vintage farmhouse looking prints.. muted florals , ticking stripes and gingham fabrics.. I bought all this at Joanne fabrics.. by the time I used my coupons and the sale prices it was very inexpensive.. this is also a twin size quilt .. this one hangs out in the family room ..and Ronnie thinks they are all hers.. I used fabric I had for the back .. a steel grey ticking stripe and red gingham for the binding.

at that same time Chelsea made her red , white and blue quilt ..
and here is Daisy in Chelsea's sewing room showing it off..she used blue checks for the backing , and red gingham for the binding ..

it is beautiful! When we make these quilts it is a team effort .. so we both made all of these..

Lastly the 2 rag quilts and rag quilt doll blankets for Chelsea's stepdaughters... they turned out so pretty! She bought 7 yards of flannel for each ..we cut 9 inch squares and used flannel on the front and back with no batting .. I think I would like to try and make one with 3 layers of flannel.. so that is it !

A Truck Full of Chickens

 Good Morning!
Can you stand the cuteness!?!
This is the little truck from the Fresh Eggs Farm Chart! The chalkboard to cross stitch collaboration between Hands On Design and me !
I used a frame from the thrift store.. mounted red ticking on sticky board and then glued that to the top of the frame .. I then mounted the stitching on sticky board and then hot glued that to the ticking..

Chelsea stitched this last week and I finished it up for her last night .. It is adorable on the coffee / tea dyed fabric! I made the bow from homespun checks and black ticking.. I then covered a button with red homespun checks.. It is adorable! We hope you will join us in our stitch-a- long with the hashtag #pcfresheggsfarm

she used the Classic Colorworks Barn Door , Gentle arts chalk and dmc 844 for the tires..
I made valentine sugar cookies for my little valentines..I spent a couple days this week taking down all the winter decor.. spring decor will be going up soon! All my farmhouse touches are heading back into the kitchen!

A Teeny Halloween

Good morning!
This little tiny piece is from Lizzie Kate's Autumn smalls..This is another of my daughters pieces that I finished for her.

She found this silver tray ( maybe a butter dish) at a Good will.. this little piece fits perfectly in it! I used a Halloween colored plaid homespun for the back ,that I mounted on sticky board. I also mounted the stitching on sticky board. Then hot glued the 2 pieces together...I made a bow from burlap, and black gingham check.. Then added 2 covered buttons to the middle of the bow..It is very cute but tiny!

Farm..Sweet..Farm

Good morning..
Yesterday in our video we showed you this finish of The Farmer's Daughter from Little House Needleworks..My daughter stitched it and I finished it for her...She stitched it on 28 count coffee/ tea dyed fabric with the called for threads but left out the Farmer's daughter words at the top..
Here it is in her kitchen with aprons hanging from the pegs..
I mounted the stitching on sticky board..then mounted red ticking stripe onto another piece of sticky board. I glued them together and added magnets to the back to attach to the metal on the frame .. The frame came from Hobby Lobby.. I used 2 stems of cotton and made a bow from burlap , the red ticking and black check..I also used magnets on the back of this bundle to attach to the frame, so I didn't glue anything on in case she wants to change it out..  The clothespins are weak so just for decoration .. I also added twine flowers in the top corners with a black homespun check covered button..

Sunflower Farm Chalkboard

Happy Monday!
I finally got around to redoing the chalkboard on the mantel..
I kept the truck but removed all the patriotic bunting and flowers and replaced it all with sunflowers and bees. I added some sunflowers to the mantel and a basket of cut from the garden hydrangeas on the hearth..I am all set until I start to decorate for Fall in a couple weeks!
