A Wreath Update and a Hutch full of Snowmen

Good morning!
Last year I finished up this Prairie Schooler Prairie Seasons Winter and used burlap to tie the stitching to the wreath .. I just wasn't feeling the burlap anymore so I took a trip to the basement and added a new ribbon for tying..
It is a red plaid flannel ribbon and I also added some of the light colored plaid ribbon for contrast.. the greenery and berry picks are just stuck through the wreath so they can be changed out..The old version of the wreath is below..
The hutch is filled with lots of snowmen .. most of them found while thrifting..

I was so lucky this week when I stopped into Homegoods and there were 2 Rae Dunn mixing bowls on the shelf .. I just told my daughter last week I needed to find some :) I still need the middle size , but I will find it!
On the back of the hutch is a vintage scale on a thrift store frame and some snowmen..

One of the little snowmen from the cabinet sits on a greenery wreath..
This hutch was oak and really ugly before it got painted with chalk paint and now it is an amazing part of the kitchen ..I tried to get rid of it on Craig's list for $50.00 before I painted it but no one would take it! On the top of the hutch is a greenery garland and a cotton stem garland with white lights woven through..A picnic basket from the thrift store and some cow creamers on top of that .. Also a collection of chickens ..one in a vintage galvanized bucket..

I love the revamped wreath and think it looks wonderful with all the rest of the kitchen goodies!
Have a wonderful day!

October..

 Hello friends..
This is the October sampler months from Little House Needleworks and Classic Colorworks..
I found the little crate at Michael's and added a magnet to it and sheet metal to the back of my stitched piece to be able to change it out for the different months...
I added a Halloween plaid bow , berry picks, cotton branches and a little velvet pumpkin.. to the crate with a crow on top !  It's on display in our family room with other things Fall .. The pickup truck was a gift from my neighbor for the grandsons.. it has to be on display for a while first!

It's stitched on 28 count tea/ coffee dyed evenweave ..I did change the fence color to Classic Colorworks Khaki Mocha.. it was charted for a brown color.. I also left out the heart and gave the crow a  french knot eye. The backing fabric is black check homespun.. both were mounted on seperate pieces of sticky board then hot glued together..

Thanks so much to all of you who keep tagging us when using my finishing ideas !

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Pumpkin Farm Fall Mantel

Good morning!
The mantel is all decorated for Fall..
I started with the chalkboard ...and drew a scene from a Fall farm.. look at that cute little vintage truck and barn! Stalks of Indian corn and a huge patch of pretty pumpkins!

I used 2 leaf garlands, a garland I made from leaf shapes cut from book pages, burlap lattice ribbon and cotton branches... I also added in a few sunflowers ..

Sweater pumpkins stacked on blue mason jars sit in between the chalkboard and the lanterns ...
Just a whole lot of cute Fall-ness! This mantel will stay this way until it gets decorated for Halloween at the end of the month....

It's September 11... we will Never Forget ...

August ..August..August!

It's August! This summer is flying by!
I stitched up this Classic Colorworks , Little House Needleworks Sampler Months August , and decided I wanted to use it in my foyer instead of the tiered tray in the kitchen.
So I went to Michael's and found this wood crate with chicken wire on the front .. and I just loved how it looked and the fact that I can fill it with florals to correspond with each month! I added 2 magnets to the chicken wire and a piece of sheet metal to the back of the mounted stitching.. easy to change out for the coming months. Won't it be pretty filled with fall florals and winter florals!?!
I did change some of the floss colors and the ones I used are shown above.. Looking forward to having this little crate to change out with the months!

The Frasier Fir 2016

I am here to share our only real tree out of the 13.. Every year we get a Frasier Fir.. This year I thought it was looking a little small .. but its pretty big.. and was big enough to hold all the ornaments..and there is a lot of ornaments.. this tree holds all the collected over the years family ornaments.. plus stitched ornaments and some vintage ornaments!

It sits in the tree stand which gets put in a thrifted galvanized tub...there are both white lights and colored lights on the tree..

I showed my neighbor a photo of a primitive wooden star and she said her husband could make it for me .. An hour later with a little stain and drybrushed cream color paint it was up on top of the tree. I added some faux cotton stems and red berries to finish off the star tree topper... I love it and think it looks perfect on top of the tree!
There are 4 trees in the living room... 2 with the village and the big flocked one here on the front right..

A Mickey ornament from Disney World..
I found this really wide ribbon at Michael's a couple weeks ago for 70% off and used it to wind through the tree. it;s like a burlap with red glitter stripes ,,

Lots of homemade ornaments ..these 2 are both from Country Cottage Needleworks..

The Little Plaid Tree In The Foyer

Good morning!
Today I am here to share our little plaid tree in the foyer!

Last year after Christmas I found these plaid wrapped ornaments in red and green for 75 % off at Michael's .. This year I found the plaid ribbon at Hobby Lobby so the little tree in the foyer got all plaided up :) The reindeer ornaments are from Walmart .. the little white branch berries are from an Estate sale..
I put the basket with the tree in it on top of the little white stool I found at A flea market this summer..The basket is from the Goodwill...
The green cabinet is filled with Santa's .. pine cones ..a mason jar filled with a bottle brush tree..the vintage scale ..and a DIY JOY sign..
The stairs are decorated with a faux evergreen garland with real Frasier fir branches tucked in.. cotton branches, plaid ribbons, black check ribbons, and JOY letters from Hobby Lobby that I painted and distressed are hanging from check ribbons..

Fall On The Mantel

 Happy Monday!
I do always love Mondays! :)
The mantel got decorated for Fall today .. I drew the chalkboard this morning and decorated around it!  We are pumpkin picking Wednesday this week so I will add a few small pumpkins in too ..
I used white twinkle lights..3 fall leaf garlands.. a garland of bookpage leaves I made last year .. and cotton branches for the garland.

Painted mason jars hold sweater pumpkins and a few sweater pumpkins are scattered around.
I really love using a chalkboard for the focal point on the mantel..I decided to keep the chalkboard kind of muted ..only a little color on the pumpkins and leaves.. and a little yellow on the sunflowers..

I do love this time of year!
