Our Halloween Front Porch

Good morning!

October 1st means it's time to decorate the front porch for Halloween! You can see the Halloween Tree from yesterdays post behind Ronnie ..

I used the Trick and Treat signs I made last year and also the OR that hangs on the door.. The garland around the door is made from decomesh and tulle, little chalkboard signs.. diy ghosts and skeletons from Dollar Tree. there are also purple lights and white lights strung thru it.. the base is a evergreen garland piece in black ..

The chalkboard Halloween countdown is on display again ...with a pumpkin patch chalkboard sign

The few zinnia seeds I kind of threw on the ground by the front door are taller than me .. and still going strong!

We should be having a little cooler weather here in Northern Illinois .. but its still been in the 80's and finally they are calling for rain here this week.. everything is so dry!

Ronnie is ready for all the Trick or Treaters.. she just needs to carve all the pumpkins! :)

In the Garden July 4 ,2016

Good morning! Happy 4th of July!
Hooray for the red, white and blue!
I love this time of year .. love the hydrangeas and all the other flowers.. I could spend all day outside!

Bee balm ,lobelia and more hydrangeas..

couldn't you just crawl in there and take a nap ?

so many colors on one plant..

on the back porch..

This blushing bride hydrangea is covered in blooms ..last year I had 2 blooms all summer ..They are gorgeous big flowers!

I got this chair at a flea market last weekend along with the galvanized bucket and the basket of flowers.. Isn't it the best !

My vintage wheelbarrow with a galvanized tub filled with pots of petunias..and another galvanized bucket hanging off the handle..those are zinnias surrounding it and some are starting to bloom!

In The Garden August 24

Good Morning!
Here is this weeks walk through the garden in photos! This week we deadheaded all the branching sunflowers ..hoping that they will rebloom like I read..They just keep getting taller and I am loving them !

The fall raspberries have started and they are so good!

This weeks zinnia bouquet ..Finally some green ones are blooming!

We have so many bees.. butterflies ..birds and hummingbirds this year !

In the Garden August 16

Good morning !
Here are my favorite photos from my garden this week !
Coneflowers are the best perenials ever ! They multiply and give you several months of blooms!

The hydrangeas in the backyard are still a little white on top ..

Russian sage , black eyed susans and coneflowers..Love Russian sage too ..it gives such a pretty look to your garden

made my first for this year Roasted tomato sauce from the garden ..if you have alot of tomatoes click on that link and make it! The smell while they are roasting is incredible!

Come on in! The DIY sunflower wreath is on the door..

This morning in the zinnias..

On the back patio ..The basket is a roadside rescue that I planted with mini pansies, alysum ,mini petunias and a couple other lavender plants. Love the little orange faces :) I have 4 wire baskets hanging on the fence back here and they are looking good!

Love this zinnia patch ! So much color!

The sunflowers are still going strong! I read that if you deadhead the multi branching ones they keep on blooming ..so I hope that is right!

Sunflowers and Birds

Happy Monday !
Yesterday I got out my good camera with the big zoom lens and took some photos in the sunflowers..The little yellow finches love hanging out in them ..

My fall raspberries are really coming along..

See the big bumble bee? and more raspberries..

I have been throwing bread out for the birds in the front yard and I get three and four blue jays that come to eat .. I wish these pics were better but here is one of them ..
