The Red and Black Flocked tree

Good morning!
I am here to share the big flocked tree in the living room with you today!
The living room has 4 trees and this is the 3 rd one I am sharing .. This year I decorated the tree with lots of black check ribbons and red white check and stripe ribbons.. It has been so hard to get any good photos lately because it has been cloudy... but this is the best I can do right now.. If it gets sunny I will try and add some better photos.. This tree is prelit and from Walmart..

I have lots of silvery and icy looking ornaments .. book page ornaments we made
red berries, and vintage shiny brite ornaments..
I love the mix of all the different patterns of ribbons!

I made a tree topper out of a vintage tray ..and then decided I didn't like it on top..so now it is front and center on the tree..  This tree was bought this year and you can't form the branches .. it does its own thing and I couldn't get the tray to sit right on top.. I have this same tree in my family room but it was bought several years ago so you fluff the branches .. the new one you don't . So anyway I like the tray better in the middle since I couldn't get the branches to lay right around it!
The frosty forest in the vintage window is on display right next to the tree..I have 4 of the glitter houses form Homegoods TJ Maxx under the tree and those are lit with Christmas lights..

The Christmas Home Tour video..

Hope you are all decorated and feeling festive! Thanks so much for all your comments and visits ..I truly appreciate all of you!

The 2017 Santa Tree

Good morning friends!
It's time for this years Prairie Schooler Santa Tree! This is one of the 4 trees in the living room..
This year they got a new tree .. this flocked 6-1/2 foot tall tree.. The only thing bad about  a new flocked tree is the flocking sticks to the stitched  ornaments... but it looks so pretty , its just a little "snow" on them !I put this tree and the tree I showed you yesterday on bins because our Christmas village wraps around it ..You can see the bin in the above photo.. I have 4 of the yearly Santa's left to stitch .. I know I need to get on that! :) and many other leaflets of Santa's to stitch!

They are all finished with different homespuns and ginghams ... such a treat to pull out these friends!
I also add a  few Santa ornaments ...some vintage.. Lots of buffalo check ribbon this year ..
White fur strips like Santa's suit is woven in and out of the tree..A big fabric Santa head is the tree topper with lots of buffalo check ribbons.. Just a warning.. there is a lot of buffalo check this year ! :) Love it!

I love this tree and all the stitched Santa's!

Flocked Tree Love!

Happy Saturday!
I'm here with the last of the living room trees! This flocked tree came to live here 3 Christmas's ago.. I love the way this tree looks.. there are lots of ornaments.. and it just looks so peaceful!

This year some vintage shiny brite ornaments from my mother in law gave the tree a little color..
Under the tree is the cross stitched nativity piece from Plum Street Samplers.. a nativity and a glittery church..

Wreaths with flocked greenery hang in the windows..

DIY book page ornaments .. lots of glittery deer ,, and I love this little bottle brush wreath I found at Macy's last year after Christmas for about a dollar!

The Santa tree filled with stitched Prairie Schooler Santa's in the background..
More of those vintage shiny brite ornaments..

The Christmas Village 2016

Happy Monday!
Let's take a tour of the Christmas Village !
But first LOOK ! The SDSU Aztecs won another Mountain West Championship!
What a game it was ! The temperature at kickoff in Wyoming was 18 degrees! They won 27-24 .. It was so exciting! My son #91is the punter and one of his punts was 75 yards!
 On to that village :)
The village is wrapped around 2 0f the 4 trees in the living room .. The flocked tree with all the gold and lace is new this year .. I had to throw the other one away last year , and I got this one at Walmart 6-1/2 foot with lights for $60.00.. It is a gorgeous tree!
My daughter and I made the book page tree topper a couple years ago and I still LOVE it! This tree is covered with lace and gold ornaments.. The Happy Holidays ribbon came from Michael's a few years ago..

I put each of the trees on Rubbermaid bins so that the village can go underneath it..
My husband is in charge of the setup of the village ..and he uses boards, bins and whatever else he can find to stack the village on..

The ice rink... Santa on the bridge greeting everyone in town..
The village is so big.. I can't get it and both of the trees in one photo!

The Santa tree is on the other end..

The last 2 Trees in The Parade of Trees

Good Morning!
Today I have tree #12 which is the flocked tree in the living room..

I got this tree last year ..it is from Walmart and is prelit ..

Under the tree I have the manger and 2 putz like houses.. I added a string of white lights stuck in the bottom of the houses and strung over the top of the manger..
I used black gingham ribbon and chalkboard ribbon throughout the tree.. and I also made a big bow for the tree topper out of those same ribbons. The tree is filled with silver and platinum colored ornaments.. some burlap flowers and DIY book page ornaments..
It is so hard to get good photos of this tree.. but it is really pretty in person..

Tree # 13 is the only tree upstairs ..isn't it the cutest!  It is a 4 foot tree..
I made the sweater balls last year using sleeves of a thrift store sweater to cover Styrofoam ornaments..I also made the aqua plaques last year ..they are wooden plaques that I had used for a Halloween project and just flipped them over and painted them aqua ..I the used puffy paint to write on them and of course sprinkled with glitter :)
All the ball ornaments are from the Dollar Tree ..I want to collect vehicle ornaments with a tree on top ..so far I have the camper and a truck ...but they have to be red and white or aqua ..so I will be on the hunt after Christmas :)
I used a bunch of different ribbons and burlap to garland the tree and used the same ribbons for a bow tree topper..there are pearl picks stuck throughout..I used a vintage crochet tablecloth for the tree skirt ..Well.. thats it for this years parade of trees .. I hope you have enjoyed seeing them as I have enjoyed decorating them and showing all of you!
