Hello Fall!

Good morning.. and Hello Fall! 

What's better than a sign toting scarecrow to welcome in the Fall season!

Calvin wanted to make sure that you see he has a staring role on the chalkboard .. :)

This chalkboard hangs on the wall in my kitchen and gets changed out for all the seasons and holidays .. The frame I found thrifting and I love to draw new designs to decorate my house! 

Ronnie is always ready to pose.

Don't you just love the colors of Fall?!? The house is all decorated for Fall and  The Fall home tour should be coming tomorrow!

Scarecrows In A Jar

Good morning!
The Fall decorating has commenced .. and I couldn't wait to show you this jar full of scarecrows! 

( the little truck stitched piece on the scale is from  Autumn Acres farm  )

This chalkboard hangs in the family room over the vintage buffet and gets changed out with the seasons.. There are of course the scarecrows.. Indian corn stalks .. and fall colored leaves!

I love it ... and now back to the decorating!

Hello Fall!

 Happy Tuesday!
Thanks so much for coming by! I drew up the chalkboard today that hangs in the kitchen ..I was feeling all the scarecrow love and of course our scarecrow has to have chickens
 ( Chelsea's chickens :) Ronnie's mad because it is raining ..she wants to chase those chipmunks!

 He is in the middle of the pumpkin patch with a row of Indian corn behind him

 This frame was found out rummaging and I had a piece of wood cut to fit that I chalkboard painted ..one of my favorite things to decorate for the seasons!

 It's one of those cloudy dreary days here .. seems like Fall but still pretty hot!

Oval Tiered Tray for Fall

Good morning!

I have 2 galvanized tiered trays that I decorate for the seasons .. yesterday I showed you the round one that sits in my kitchen .. today it is the oval one that sits in my family room .. Both were purchased at Sam's club a couple years ago ..This vignette is on top of my vintage buffet in the family room..

The top of this one holds a cross stitched Fall piece Thankful Pumpkins from Annie Beez Folk art that I mounted on an old silver crusty tray :) pumpkins, sweater pumpkins, sunflowers, cotton stems ..black check ribbon and torn fabric a little vintage truck and Fall colored chickens ..

 This pumpkin with a crow is a freebie from With Thy Needle and Thread I stitched it in 2013 and just was tired of the finish so I revamped it and put it on this planked pumpkin from Walmart .. I took it off its original sticky board and mounted it on a smaller piece of sticky board .. then added torn homespun and of course a washer and magnet so I can change it out ..

 I changed out the Mason Jar chalkboard to sunflowers and absolutely LOVE it!

 The truck was a gift to the little grandsons from my neighbor and the kids let me "use it" It has a little olive bucket in the back with a sweater pumpkin and fall leaves ..

Pumpkin Farm Fall Mantel

Good morning!
The mantel is all decorated for Fall..
I started with the chalkboard ...and drew a scene from a Fall farm.. look at that cute little vintage truck and barn! Stalks of Indian corn and a huge patch of pretty pumpkins!

I used 2 leaf garlands, a garland I made from leaf shapes cut from book pages, burlap lattice ribbon and cotton branches... I also added in a few sunflowers ..

Sweater pumpkins stacked on blue mason jars sit in between the chalkboard and the lanterns ...

Just a whole lot of cute Fall-ness! This mantel will stay this way until it gets decorated for Halloween at the end of the month....

It's September 11... we will Never Forget ...

Sunflower Manor.. Chalk for the Home

Good morning friends!
Hope your Labor Day weekend was good! Sunflower Manor is my chalkboard to cross stitch collaboration between Hands On Design and Me! This design will be shipping to stores this week so call and preorder it! This is the 3rd in the series Tulip House and Rose Cottage came before this one..

These are the chalkboards I drew that Cathy from Hands on Design charted the designs from. If you have followed my blog for a while you know that I Love pumpkins and sunflowers...So this would be the perfect house for me .. sunflowers bigger than the house and a pumpkin vines growing all the way up the roof and a whole yard of pumpkins !

I stitched mine on 28 count Monaco that I had purchased on Ebay from Garibaldi's fabrics. I think the color was Midnight. But the fabric was not dark enough ( it was more grey than black) so I used Rit dye and dyed it until it was more to my liking. I used almost the whole bottle on this piece. It looks straight up black in these photos , but it is black with grey ..

Doesn't it look amazing in the updated frame ! I use magnets and sheet metal on the back of the designs to change them out with the seasons ...Cathy does such a great job getting the chalkboard drawings into these designs ! Pumpkin Patch Farm

Good morning...
Happy Sunday!
I am loving getting out all my Fall decor .. so I needed to get the chalk board changed! In case you are new to my blog this chalkboard hangs in my kitchen entry from the family room.. I got the frame at a rummage sale and had a board cut to fit and painted it with chalkboard paint.. I change it out with the seasons. All the designs are my own originals..

I L-O-V-E pumpkins! So whats better than pumpkin patch farm!  There is a scarecrow in the pumpkin patch with his plaid shirt and jeans.. up on the hill is a barn with a cow and a couple chickens .. The pumpkins are all in my favorite colors of orange , blue and white!

Even a heart carved on the tree trunk...

It's Pumpkin Picking Day!

 Good morning!
In honor of pumpkin picking day there is a new chalkboard in the house.. except for the fact that it is raining so pumpkin picking might not happen today ( insert very sad face) and maybe some crying ! :)

 My seasonal chalkboard hangs in the entrance to the kitchen from the family room and gets changed out for the seasons.. Its a garage sale frame with a board cut to fit and painted with chalkboard paint..

 I had to include all my favorite colors of pumpkins.. orange ( of course) white..blue..and peachy pink!

A garland of mini pumpkins surrounds the top of the chalkboard.. Love this one!
