The Snowman Tree and The Scrapbook Tree

 Good morning!
Here are 2 more trees .. the scrapbook tree and the snowman tree.. These are both in the family room ..These animals are too much .. always posing for pictures ..
The scrapbook tree rotates .. I bought it at Hobby Lobby lots of years ago on clearance for 13.00 ..it started as a place for all the kids ornaments they had made in school with their pictures..
then all their school wallet size photos were added .. and just random photos I love..
3 different kinds of  ribbons and berry garlands
The topper is made from scrapbook cardstock that is scored and made into fans .. I glued a stiff cardboard tube between them to stick the top of the tree through

Chelsea made me a few this year for the tree but I have a lot more to make!
The snowman tree is in the opposite corner and is full of snowman ornaments .. It is a flocked tree ..
 stitched ornaments ..

 and all things snowman !
the topper is off of a light up snowman that the bottom wasn't working so up on the tree he went.. I crocheted him a
super long scarf that gets woven in the tree
Both have ruffled fabric tree skirts that I made a few years ago ..

you can see more about the mantel ..here
Up on the Housetop chalkboard

The Family Scrapbook Tree..

Good morning!
The family scrapbook tree is one of the 4 in the family room.. yesterday I showed you the snowman tree and this one sits on the other side of the fireplace..
All the photo ornaments my kids made at school over the years are on this tree ..
along with all the wallet size photos and some of our favorite pictures..
For the ones I made I covered cardboard with scrapbook paper and added ribbons and buttons.. I think I am going to make a bunch more this year in a different style to break it up more.. The kids all love this tree ...it rotates so it is covered front and back with the ornaments.I bought this tree at Hobby Lobby( after Christmas sale for $13.00) many years ago ..it is prelit so every year I worry that it won't light up!
I made the topper from patterned cardstock ..using the score and fold method ..then gluing the ends together , makes a rosette.. A heavy cardboard tube from a roll of decomesh sits in between the 2 rosettes so that it can slip on the top branch of the tree... The chalkboard that hangs on the wall into the kitchen and a view of the fireplace and the 2 trees.. I made the tree skirt from ripped strips of muslin that I glued onto a tree skirt shaped piece of felt ..

Thanks so much for stopping by and all of your sweet comments!

Two of the Family Room Trees

Good morning!
Doesn't it seem like December is flying by?
This morning I am here to share 2 of the 4 trees in the family room..
I had the pillows fluffed and the blankets all folded but these 2 had other ideas.. so you are getting the "real" life look! On the coffee table is a Dept. 56 Santa and Mrs. Claus in a horse drawn sleigh.. This was a gift from my sister in law and its one of my favorites!

The snowman tree on the right is filled with stitched, handmade and collected snowman ornaments.. You can see one of the photo bomber rearranging the pillows on the chair..
Love Prairie Schooler snowmen! I use lots of snowflake garland on this tree..

The tree topper is a head off of a snowman ..I crocheted him a scarf which is woven though the branches.

The tree on the left is our "scrapbook" tree.. photos the kids made in school .. little wallet size school photos and special cute photos are all hanging on this tree.. red berry garlands , several differnt ribbons, and red and green ball ornaments with a topper made from scrapbook paper .

It rotates so all sides are covered with photos.
Both tree skirts are ruffled no sew DIY  projects.. the scrapbook tree is made from muslin and the snowman tree is different snowman fabrics..
The big wooden Santa is a flea market find .. you can read more about the mantel here..

The Snowman and Scrapbook Trees

 Happy Saturday!
Two more trees in the parade of trees today #8 and #9..
In the family room we have 4 trees , these are the two that are on both sides of the fireplace..If you missed the post on the mantel you can click here..

The snowman tree is covered in snowman ornaments ..lots of handmade.. Last year I crocheted him a scarf ..His head came from a standing snowman that was broken so I took off his head and stuck a strand of lights in it..
 Lots of cross stitched ornaments..
Love the ornaments on this tree..and this is one I keep up through January..

The other tree is the scrapbook tree..with my favorite photo prop ( Reagan) :)
All those ornaments my kids brought home from elementary school ..those little wallet photos from all their sports and school photos I have turned into ornaments using scrapbook paper and some ribbons and trims..
The topper is made out of scored scrapbook cardstock and glitter letter stickers. I used the roll from a decomesh roll for the inside to slip it onto the tree..
There are 3 different Christmas ribbons woven through the tree and garlands of red berries.. also some red and green ornaments .. This tree spins so it is covered on all sides with photos..

I do add new photos every year but so far this year I haven't had time to get that done!

The Scrapbook Tree and The Snowman Tree 2014

In our family room we have 4 trees.. On the far fireplace wall are these 2 trees.. The one on the left ifs full of family photos ..the tree on the right is decorated with only snowman ornaments..If you would like to see more about this years mantel click here.here.

All these ornaments have either been made by my kids when they were young or I made them using scrpabook supplies and ribbon..
The tree is trimmed with berry garlands and 3 different kinds of ribbon.. I tried to go with just the ornaments this year but didn't like the way it looked so I took it all down and started over again adding the ribbons and berries. Both of these trees have no sew ruffled tree skirts that are so easy to make !
I made the tree topper by pleating scrapbook cardstock and glitter letters.. I used a paper towel roll inside to stick the top of the tree into to hold it up. This tree rotates so it is full of photo ornaments front and back..
I got this Santa at a flea market this summer ..He is hand painted on wood. They were asking $10.00 and I got him for $8.00 ..Isn't he just the cutest ?
I used a head from a light up snowman that had broken for my snowman tree tree topper. I crocheted a long skinny scarf from cream yarn to wrap around his neck and drape throught the tree..
Lots of the ornaments are handmade ..

These are the cross stitched ornaments on the snowman tree..

We got our real tree on Sunday and it is a BIG one ! So fat ! It is all decorated now.. We had to go buy a few more boxes of lights to finish it :)
WE got our first real snowfall yesterday .. I put a fake tree that we were going to throw away ( parts are broken) and put it in the thrifted vintage wheelbarrow with some of the branches from the real tree. I still want to add some red bows and white lights to it ..

More Jack Russell photobombers.. This time both Ronnie and Reagan :)
