the skating rink .. the skaters skate :) I found this rink at the Goodwill last year because our old Department 56 one wasn't skating anymore and it works perfectly!
The village surrounds the Red Truck tree and the Santa tree in the living room ..I put the trees up on Rubbermaid bins so that the village can go all around them .. This is all my husbands job and he does a great job every year ..
a lot of the houses came from the Good will .. and most of them are from Kohls, Joanne fabrics a couple from Walmart and a couple Dept. 56..
the farm area.. the village extends from the far living room wall into the dining room and ends at the hutch in the dining room
he uses boards, bins, boxes and even a few tupperware containers for height ..
Ronnie occasionally flips her toy into it :)
Looks like a Hallmark movie village :)

The family scrapbook tree is one of the 4 in the family room.. yesterday I showed you the snowman tree and this one sits on the other side of the fireplace..
All the photo ornaments my kids made at school over the years are on this tree ..
along with all the wallet size photos and some of our favorite pictures..
For the ones I made I covered cardboard with scrapbook paper and added ribbons and buttons.. I think I am going to make a bunch more this year in a different style to break it up more.. The kids all love this tree ...it rotates so it is covered front and back with the ornaments.I bought this tree at Hobby Lobby( after Christmas sale for $13.00) many years ago ..it is prelit so every year I worry that it won't light up!
I made the topper from patterned cardstock ..using the score and fold method ..then gluing the ends together , makes a rosette.. A heavy cardboard tube from a roll of decomesh sits in between the 2 rosettes so that it can slip on the top branch of the tree... The chalkboard that hangs on the wall into the kitchen and a view of the fireplace and the 2 trees.. I made the tree skirt from ripped strips of muslin that I glued onto a tree skirt shaped piece of felt ..

Hello friends!
Here it ..the Christmas Village..The houses are a combination of Dept. 56, Kohls, Joann Fabrics and even a couple from Walmart. Most of them are from thrift stores....

I have been busy decorating for Christmas.. Today when I looked up and saw the happy Halloween chalkboard I knew it was time for a new one!
There is a cow pulling Santa's sleigh...chickens .. and a red truck with a tree.. what more could I fit in there ! :) Lots of snow and a beautifully decked out house!
You can see that Ronnie approves! I have 8 0f the 13 trees finished .. and there is still so much to do...so I am back to work!
