Spring Subway art Tablerunner

Hello :)
The past couple of days I have been making my spring table runner.. I used muslin for the base and for the bottom ruffle and a small floral print for the top ruffle . I also added the little green pom pom trim. The spring words are  stamped with foam stamps, some of them I used fabric paint and freehanded. ( Yes that is subfloor in the background, we are remodeling:)

I used my double deck basket to add some bunnies and florals to , I got the idea from Kristens Creations blog

I used the silver platter I got at Good will to put this Fitz and Floyd bunny teapot , surrounded by florals . I think he makes a great centerpiece.

A little springy vignette by the sink with a basket of those crocheted dishcloths , vintage scale and the metal cloche with a little bird in it. The flowers are still from Valentines day from one of my boys :)

This is the view into my kitchen from the newly enlarged opening in the dining room . It makes it look so much bigger and open. Drywallers are supposed to be here today, they were supposed to start yesterday but with the 12 inches of snow we had it got postponed until today. Hope next time I have some more progress photos !
I started a new blanket. Just can't put that crochet hook down :) Especially to keep me sane with my house totally ripped apart ! I am using 3 colors of turquoise/aqua and 2 colors of a springy green .I got the pattern here .Anyone have suggestions for how they think I should join the squares? I tried the join as you go last night adding another row of the off white but I didn't like it ..Maybe I will do the join as you go and not add another row , just the one row of white >? I used this pattern before to make my daisy blanket ,but didn't add the second row of puffs.
Thank you so much for your visits and nice comments !

Dishcloths..remodel..and Santa

It is Monday again! Thanks for visiting :) I did a little crocheting this week and made myself 6 new dishcloths.. I love using these to wash dishes , they work really well !

Last week we got recessed lighting installed in the living room, dining room and foyer. The rest of the walls came down ( what a mess) and we ripped out the carpet and baseboards. This week the drywallers are supposed to start on Wednesday.
This is the paint and carpet we are going with. It is hard to tell but its a grayish aqua paint .. the walls are now a sage green.
The kitchen is so much brighter because of the larger opening into the dining room.

Hard to believe that 2 weeks ago there was a wall here :)
The opening into the kitchen from foyer was also enlarged.. We are going to need a new kitchen table that is smaller so it doesn't stick out. I am thinking a round one with a leaf for when we have more people here.

The doorway from kitchen to dining room was enlarged about 3 1/2 feet ..It makes a huge difference.
I have a couple more Prairie Schooler Santas finished and another about halfway done.
Thank you for your visits and nice comments ! I really appreciate them :)

Owls and Mickey Mouse

Its Monday ! Another week just flew by ! I made this owl blanket and hat for a gift for a new baby .. I got the  pattern on Etsy and used the same colors they did in the pattern.. I did change the owl a little bit by crocheting the wings onto the body instead of sewing them on.
It is so pretty ! The edging is just perfect for the blanket.

My daughter in law asked for a Mickey Mouse set for her brothers baby , I bought a pattern but the directions just were not good.. so I looked on Pinterest and I had pinned a free pattern for a Mickey Mouse hat Mickey Mouse pattern and I made that one. I then made a diaper cover in red and crocheted "buttons" in yellow..I think it turned out really cute !
Anf finally.. this is what our house looks like at the moment. We decided to take down the wall in the foyer that seperates the living room .. to make the house more open. We also took down all the ceilings because they were popcorn ugly ceilings.. Once this is done the whole bottom  floor will have been remodeled.. There was a huge mirror on the wall and it was pretty scary Saturday morning when that came down !
We also decided to make the wall between the dining room and kitchen smaller so thats more open too..
What a mess we have on our hands.. but its not nearly as bad as when we had no kitchen for 3 months and I had to wash dishes in the basement utility sink ! Hopefully it won't take long to finish up and I am sure it will look so much better!
Hope you all have a wonderful week, Thanks for your visits and nice comments !!

New scarf and SNOW!

Good morning ! I made another one of these 20 row scarves for my daughter.. I think she has about 6 of them now .. She wanted a red one , so here it is crochet scarf pattern ..Very easy instructions ..and very fast to make !

We had about 4 inches of snow on Tuesday,so we took the youngest grandson out on the sled.. he is just adorable !

Then on Thursday we were supposed to get 2-4 inches and we got about 10 ! It was so beautiful.. Yesterday it was raining so alot of it is melted ...

I found this recipe on pinterest for oven baked sweet and sour chicken... It is SO good, but kind of misleading because you do have to brown the chicken before baking in the oven..I baked mine on parchment paper so there wasn't a messy pan to clean :)

I also cooked up a few green peppers and used a can of pineapple chunks, when the chicken came out of the oven. They give you a sauce recipe , but since I have alot of jars of sweet and sour sauce for when I make eggrolls I just poured that over the chicken instead of making the sauce. I will definitely be making this again!

Hope you all have a great week ! Thanks for your visits and nice comments :)

It's finished ! ( at least the front side is )

I finished the border and sewing in the ends on the front yesterday..Oh my gosh there was a ton ! This was the second border I did. Ripped out the 4 rows of the first border.. Just didn't think it went well with the blanket. For the border I did 3 rows of single crochet and then a v stitch using single crochet instead of double crochet.

You can see the join as you go stitches connecting the squares in this photo. I have wanted to make a granny square blanket with all different color squares but didn't know how to join them without having to use one color to crochet them together.I used up alot of my small yarn balls.. didn't have to buy that much yarn to complete this .

This was the first border.. I had two layers of ruffles.. I think the blanket was too busy for this border.

Still stitching my Prairie Schooler Santas.. Finished the fisherman and almost finished with the flower cart Santa.. Going to have to make them into ornaments soon !
Hope you all have a great week ! Thanks for your visits and nice comments :)
