The Cutest Box of Chickens 2

Good morning! 

Remember Chelsea's cutest box of chickens ? This is Rooster and  Hens .. Little house Needleworks

I had to stitch it for myself and finish it the same way! I used Classic Colorworks floss in Barn Door, Ladybug. Rainshower . Wagon Wheel .Bamboo and Chopped chives .. Chelsea had changed up the colors and also added 2 chickens where the person was so I copied ! :) A lot of the colors are in our Spring floss pack 

The egg box I bought last year at Michael's and knew it would be perfect for her finish and luckily they are carrying them again this year ,,

I mounted my stitching on sticky board with 2 layers of batting .. and mounted blue checks on sticky board for the backing which I glued to the top of the box .. I added 3 chicks to mine with some flowers and raffia

I just love it !

Halloween Night 2

Good morning!

I decided to stitch up this cute little Halloween piece..Halloween Night from Heart in Hand.. 

 You might remember my daughter Chelsea also stitched this and I finished it for her.. When I saw how cute hers was I went and bought the same wood shelf piece from Michael's to stitch my own!

 I finished mine a little differently .. I painted the wood piece with chalkboard paint..then mounted my stitching on sticky board and did some black check homespun on sticky board.. glued the 2 pieces together..and glued to the wood piece..  on hers I ruffled the homespun to put on the back..

 I added black and orange berry picks and a Halloween plaid bow.. this is the same plaid ribbon I usedon the Halloween tree. the whole piece  got some chalk doodles..

 This wood piece is nice because it is free standing.. no need for an easel..

The Witch Is In!

Happy Saturday! 

This is Hallow's Eve at Raven Hollow... by With Thy Needle and Thread..

I had found this sign at Michael's and knew this design would be perfect for it..

 I finished stitching it Thursday night ...and needed my husband to cut a board for it and drill holes in the shoes and the board to connect the sign to the stitching board.. He used wire that he made into little ringlets to attach it.

 I used 28 count tea/coffee dyed evenweave .. Mostly Classic Colorworks floss ..and mounted the stitching on sticky board .. I used black homespun check mounted on foam board to back it.. I added a bow from plaid Halloween colors and the black homespun to the top..

Dollar Tree Santa Wreath

Good morning!

About a month ago I found this Vintage looking Santa ( wooden board ) at the Dollar Tree for you guessed it $1.00 ! I couldn't decide where to put it so it became a very inexpensive wreath!

 Remember last year I made this wreath from a Dollar Tree sign?  The reindeer wreath hangs in my downstairs powder room..

I purchased 2 flocked -pine cone-berry picks (50% off) so there  is one on each side ..from Hobby Lobby and the grapevine wreath .. I also used one faux cotton branch split into two parts( You know I love my cotton branches!).I didn't glue any of it in so I can change it out if I decide to in the future.. The ribbon is from Michael's at 70% off! Right now its hanging in the family room on the garage door.. and I love it! It took about 15 minutes from start to finish!

A Little Summer

 Good morning!
Summer from Country Cottage Needleworks was one of my 15 Stitchmaynia starts ..and here it is all finished!

 I only stitched the top half of the chart just like Spring ..I had found this frame on clearance at Michael's and thought this was the perfect series to stitch for it ..

It is on display in my kitchen on top of a vintage scale with a big white bowl filled with daisies and little flowers..

I used red gingham on the bias for the background ..both pieces get mounted on sticky needlework board then hot glued togther,.. I covered little buttons with yellow gingham.. all colors of floss are as charted and I used 28 count tea/coffee dyed glass blue Monaco, evenweave..

Isn't it just so c-u-t-e!
