Late Summer Galvanized Tiered Tray

Good morning!

I have had the galvanized tray decorated for a while and just keep forgetting to get a post written!

I love to use sunflowers to decorate it this time of year ...

Fits right in with the seasonal chalkboard!

Lots of vintage and new chickens, painted mason jars.. cows and of course sunflowers deck out the tray..

These black and white chickens are vintage and came from my mother in law..

This yellow chicken is also vintage and my daughter got it for me .. He sits in the top of the tray..

A New Kitchen Table!

Good morning!
So ..I didn't get an new table but it sure looks like one!

I decided to paint it grey ..

we usually make homemade chalk paint with plaster of Paris but I saw this Rust-o-leum paint at Home Depot and it was pretty inexpensive..and I wanted to give it a try..

It worked great ..my daughter came over yesterday to help me paint and she ended up painting the whole thing herself because the little grandsons were over so I watched them while she painted.

here is the table in all its oak glory .. just wasn't loving it!

I should have painted the table 2 years ago when I got it ..such a difference it made!

When I painted the hutch I painted the inside ( that is a mirror in the back with chalk paint on it) grey ..so that's why I did the table in grey.

The ice skate tree ( in the dining room) and the snowman tree in the family room are going to be coming down this week .. I am sure going to miss those happy white lights! It has been so gloomy here !

So I am now loving my Craig's list table .. I still want to distress it a little and add some dark wax especially to the pedestal.. Thanks so much for coming by to see my "new" table!

Trick Or Treat Chalkboard

It's time for a new chalkboard for the month of October ! I used the colored chalk again and just doodled until I got it the way I wanted it to look..

This chalkboard that hangs between the kitchen and family room is such a great way to decorate for the seasons.. I got the frame at a yard sale and had a board cut to fit at Home Depot , and painted the board with chalkboard paint. It has been hanging up for a year now ,and I love changing the designs !

I still need to put out the Halloween decorations .. hopefully today !

Yesterday this cute guy and I went apple picking .. He loved eating th apples ..not so much picking :) We got two big bags of Golden Delicious .. Can't wait to make some good things with them !

Fall In the Kitchen

Good morning ! The kitchen is all dressed for fall! Not to say I won't add or change a few things before the Halloween comes out :) but here it is !

Last year my daughter and I painted the hutch with homemade chalk paint ..it was ugly oak and a few months before we painted it I was even trying to give it away ! I love it and decorating it for the holidays is so fun !

I shared the galvanized centerpiece yesterday here..

On top of the hutch are a collection of roosters ..they stay there year round and get decorated around. There is a fall garland up there and a silver tray that I chalkboard painted.. The burlap wreath on the basement door got a couple sunflower picks.
On the shelf of the hutch is an easel with a pumpkin plate ( thrifted) another silver tray with a vintage scale and some vintage mason jars..glittery pumpkins and a sweater pumpkin.

In the hutch there are a couple pumpkin plates, mason jars with pumpkins on top and fall leaf and berry picks.

On the counter ..I am going to call him vintage because I think he is getting close to 20 years old Fitz and Floyd pig cookie jar. he has a wheelbarrow with pumpkins. On top of a thrifted basket that I turned upside down is another vintage scale with an owl in a cloche..another cloche with a vintage mason jar and some sunflowers...

I got that big basket on the floor at a church rummage sale and I placed a scarecrow my neighbor made with a big sweater pumpkin..

On the back counter ,I have a big white platter with pumpkins on it.. and a silver tray with a cake plate with sweater pumpkins inside and another on the tray .

On the wall shelf I have a couple pumpkin plates , crocheted pumpkin an apple sign ( from my Ct. sister in law) and the sunflower stitching I recently finished.

I got this fall plate at a church rummage sale this summer..I put it in the top of the wrought Iron tiered basket with some sunflowers and pumpkins and black and white check ribbon ...love it !

It's A Pumpkin Picking Chalkboard

Good morning!
Yesterday I started a little bit of Fall decorating ..I hope to get the rest finished today :)

I did the seasonal chalkboard, that hangs between my kitchen and family room with orange and green chalk along with the white . One of my favorite days of the year is pumpkin picking day , so I thought that would be a great chalkboard to have hanging up for September!

The results of last years pumpkin picking ...Can't wait for Pumpkin Picking Day :)

I got this frame at a yard sale , painted it and had a board cut to fit ..Then painted the board with chalkboard paint. It has been almost a year since it got hung up and it is one of my favorite decorations !

Yesterday my daughter and I went to Good Will and I found this Fitz and Floyd bunny platter.. I love Fitz and Floyd and I can spot it immediately( from a mile away) lol ! ...No chips ..in perfect condition .. It was $1.99 !!!! It will look so cute with my spring decorations next year !

Thrifting and Stitching ..Two of my Favorite Things !

Good morning !
I wanted to share some of my favorite thrifty treasures I have found lately .. I have a thing for chickens ..the kitchen is full of them ! I found this chicken soup tureen at a Goodwill up in Wisconsin .. It fits perfectly in tis chicken wire basket thats on my dining room table .

I also got one of the soup tureens on top of the hutch from another Goodwill ..the one on the left came from an Estate sale this winter.

I got this little cow creamer at the thrift shop here in our town for $3.00 ! It is vintage and so cute ! The soup tureen with the hydrangeas in it was also from a Goodwill.. Yhe hydrangeas are from my garden ..Love them !

Now in the kitchen , my daughter found this guy at the Goodwill ..Isn't he the cutest ! He was $3.99.. About a week later we were at a church rummage sale and there was a cow just like him that I found for my daughter since she is crazy for cows !

I also found this chicken plate for 99 cents , that looks like it goes with another chicken plate I got at the Goodwill ..

Here they both are together.

I took this photo with my Iphone last night in the garden as the sun was setting .. Love my patches of zinnias!

I finished stitching Prairie Schooler Pumpkin Patch on Friday .. I have been working on this only on Fridays since the first of the year .. So glad to have it finished !
