The Valentine Tree

Happy Sunday Friends! 

Last week I decided I wanted to change up the snowman tree that stays in my family room after Christmas is over through the Winter ..

I had decided to change the mantel to Valentines instead of my usual winter but thought that the tree next to the mantel needed to coordinate ..

Last years winter mantel 

I went to Dollar tree and spent $17.00 .. I bought the 2 Love signs on the mantle .. the Bless your Heart signs .. The Valentine's Heart .. and 2 Valentine chalkboards .3 unpainted Love signs .. I also bought 4 bunches of red roses .

I used black buffalo check ribbon I already had ..

The white garlands were on the snowman tree so I left them .. I also added strips of red check fabrics stuffed in the tree for a garland ..There are 3 stitched pieces on the tree .. Country Cottage Needleworks February cottage .. a cute snowman with hearts ornament and Hands on Design Year In Chalk February ..So maybe this year I will stitch a couple Valentines pieces with the tree in mind..  

The roses really give a big pop of red that was needed ....I love the big bold pieces instead of the usual small ornaments ..

The truck on top is from Hobby Lobby .. The Love chalkboard is a thrift store frame I painted and added the drawing to ..

I "LOVE" it and really enjoy the brightness of it .. we have had the dreariest winter so it cheers you up when you peek into the family room .. not bad for $17.00 .. right ?

Be Mine Valentine Mantel

Good morning! 

The mantel is all set for Valentines Day! 

I haven't done a Valentine mantel .. I usually just do a Winter one .. but decided this year it needed to be Valentines !

The chalkboard is a heart roses and daisies .. The Love signs (I placed on top of thrifted shutters )and bless your heart sign are from Dollar tree.. The metal houses are all from Michael's last year ..I draped black buffalo check ribbon with a bow in the center ..

I left the twinkle lights from Christmas because it makes it more festive and it has been so dreary and grey here ! The pups love the Valentine mantel and I can't wait to show you the Valentine tree tomorrow! Both of the quilts are quilt as you go string quilts  ..

The Halloween Mantel

Good morning! 

The mantel is all set for Halloween !

The centerpiece on the mantel is a thrifted frame with a Halloween chalkboard design ..

2 garlands and some Dollar tree spooky cloth .. a Halloween pom pom garland and  the DIY  book page garland I have used for a few years .. I tried not to use it this year but it didn't seem like Halloween without it :)

The witch legs and the Beware signs are from Dollar Tree last year .I used white and orange lights .. black tulle ribbon .. white sweater pumpkins and crows from the Dollar Tree 

I also painted the subway art sign and drew the trick or treat chalkboard that is on the piece of vintage picket fence ..
It's beginning to look a lot like Halloween !

Halloween in the Tiered Tray

Hello friends!

Last night I decided to spookify the tiered tray.. Crows from the Dollar Tree took over the top tier..

Purple sparkly floral picks, orange and black buffalo check ribbon.. black sparkly berries, and black tulle all were added..Lots of fall leaves ..pumpkins, sweater pumpkins too...

 several sets of owl salt and pepper sets .. and the cutest vintage looking Halloween cat salt and pepper shakers..

 Look at them!

 Love that Buffalo check ribbon.. for the final touch I added a strand of battery operated lights...so it is lit up at night!

Dollar Tree Santa Wreath

Good morning!

About a month ago I found this Vintage looking Santa ( wooden board ) at the Dollar Tree for you guessed it $1.00 ! I couldn't decide where to put it so it became a very inexpensive wreath!

 Remember last year I made this wreath from a Dollar Tree sign?  The reindeer wreath hangs in my downstairs powder room..

I purchased 2 flocked -pine cone-berry picks (50% off) so there  is one on each side ..from Hobby Lobby and the grapevine wreath .. I also used one faux cotton branch split into two parts( You know I love my cotton branches!).I didn't glue any of it in so I can change it out if I decide to in the future.. The ribbon is from Michael's at 70% off! Right now its hanging in the family room on the garage door.. and I love it! It took about 15 minutes from start to finish!

Dollar Tree Glittery Deer Wreath DIY

 Happy Friday!
I was in Dollar Tree a couple weeks ago to get some MORE Christmas balls.. and saw this cute vintagy.. glittery ..adorable deer sign for $1.00 ..So I knew it had to come home with me..for $1.00 :)

 I decided to make it inot a wreath for my downstairs powder room..I hang a wreath on the window in there and it is painted an aqua color..perfect!

 I used a grapevine wreath I already had.. you can see hot glue marks where it had been used before and I ripped all the stuff off and kept the wreath.. when they get faded don't toss thgem just rip it all off and add new :) I glued the ribbon hanger to the top of the wreath and tacked the sign to the wreath on the corners with hot glue. I had a evergreen piece that gets skinny on both ends... I know it came from Michaels a long time ago.. so I used that and 2 flocked sprigs on each side 70 % off at michaels ..so they were about 45 cents each .. Then I made a bow out of the leftover ribbon from doing my trees...a red gingham and a red plaid..

 Isn't it the cutest ..?.. and by using things I already had.. It cost about $3.00! and just an FYI the wreath isn't crooked my picture is!

The Halloween Mantel 2015

 Good Morning!
I am here to share my Halloween Mantel for this year ..
I made the Halloween Bookpage banner last year and loved it so much I decided to use it again this year! here is last years..

 I used the same vintage ,thrifted frame from the Fall mantel and doodled a jack-o-lantern design ..

 The crows and creepy drapy cloth came from Dollar Tree. Lanterns are from Homegoods..glitter pumpkins from Walmart .. white sweater pumpkins made by me..

 There are white lights running through the decorations so it looks good at night..
