July's Stitchy Chalkboard

Good morning!
Here is July's Hands On Design ..A Year In Chalk ..
I was working on this one yesterday and was halfway finished when I realized it was off by 2 stitches! So I have stitched this one almost twice !!!

Since the theme is Red, White and BBQ it is in the kitchen on the counter with the green vintage scale ..

I finished it off this morning on a piece of sticky needlework board ..and a piece of sheet metal on the back to adhere to the magnet I have glued to the gingham on the frame.

My DIY boxwood wreath, some daisies ,a painted mason jar ..and a little chicken salt and pepper shaker complete the fun vignette..

June's Stitchy Vignettes

Happy Friday !
Just thought I would show you the vignette I put together in our family room. I brought the cottage of the month from Country Cottage Needleworks and also the June wordplay from With Thy Needle and Thread back here into the family room. They have been in the living room for a couple months.

All my favorite things.. hydrangeas , a vintage scale, vintage crochet made by my Grandmother, a thrift store frame and tray to mount the stitching on , chickens , chalkboards and a diy boxwood wreath..

I got this little lidded basket at the goodwill so I just popped a dried hydrangea from the yard in it with a small flag and it sits on a vintage scale.

The white chicken is from Homegoods..

Picked my first strawberries yesterday ..they are so good ! Hope there is more today !

I am working on Red ,White and Bloom from Country Cottage Needleworks. I try and stitch on that epic Christmas stocking on the weekends so hopefully I will get this finished up next week ..

It's Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day!
I had finished stitching Old Glory from Little House Needleworks the other night ..and this is how I finished it off.

I had found this clipboard frame at Michael's a few weeks ago ( I know another clipboard frame from Michaels:) I loved how this stitched piece looked on it. I had trouble with the blue homespun check ..it would just cooperate and line up straight.I turned it sideways and the squares are on the diagonal now. it looks much better than crooked lines.

It is sitting inside the boxwood wreath I made from clippings from our yard..and the dried hydrangea is also from our yard.

The bowl and the urn are from the Goodwill sitting on a vintage scale . The upside down basket is also from Goodwill.
