DIY Halloween Countdown redo

 Happy Tuesday!
I wanted to change up this DIY Halloween Countdown I made several years ago ... so..I decided to paint it with chalkboard paint and draw it with chalk ...

Above is how it looked when I first made it ..But ..you know me and my love of chalkboards.. so I drew it all in chalk and sprayed it with a sealer.   Hoping it will stay ..if not I will have to trace over it with chalk markers. But I absolutely love it ! I will be back to show you the rest of the porch soon!

Hoppin' Down The Bunny Trail Chalkboard

  Good Sunday morning!
There is a bunny on my chalkboard!

 The Tiptoe through the tulips chalkboard is erased and now we are on to bunnies or I should say one big bunny !

 
I got up this morning and decided it was time for a bunny on the chalkboard..
I used the colored chalk again :) pink,yellow,blue and green..

 I am so glad I bought this frame from a garage sale almost 2 years ago ! I have so much fun changing it out for all the seasons!

 I gave the bunny a wreath of flowers around her neck and a pink stripe bow trailing behind her..

Trick Or Treat Chalkboard

 It's time for a new chalkboard for the month of October ! I used the colored chalk again and just doodled until I got it the way I wanted it to look..

 This chalkboard that hangs between the kitchen and family room is such a great way to decorate for the seasons.. I got the frame at a yard sale and had a board cut to fit at Home Depot , and painted the board with chalkboard paint. It has been hanging up for a year now ,and I love changing the designs !

 I still need to put out the Halloween decorations .. hopefully today !

 Yesterday this cute guy and I went apple picking .. He loved eating th apples ..not so much picking :) We got two big bags of Golden Delicious .. Can't wait to make some good things with them !

Red, White and Blue In the Foyer

 Good morning ! I can't beleive it's July 1st already ! Summer is just flying by ! I stitched up this little piece last night , its a Sampler Girl design ..I mounted it on needlework board , then onto a red gingham covered piece. I then glued it to the wood shape painted with chalkboard paint.

 I painted a few mason jars with homemade chalk paint ..tied them with the red gingham fabric ..and added a couple little flags.

 I have another chalkboard sitting on a wrought iron plant holder filled with faux daisies..

 Love these mason jars ! I didn't feel like looking for sandpaper in the garage so I just used a butter knife for distressing :)

Love this little patriotic display in my foyer !

She's A Grand Old Flag !

 It's that red, white and blue time of year ! I redid the seasonal chalkboard that is on the wall going into the kitchen this weekend..  I got the frame at a garage sale last summer , and had a board cut to fit at Home Depot... June Stitching

 Good morning !
I finally finished this months With Thy Needle and Thread Wordplay ! I think I stitched it twice because of all the mistakes I had to rip out ! I used sheet metal on the back to attach to the magnet on the tray ..The tray is painted with chalkboard paint. So easy to change out each month!

 I used a blue gingham for the backgound ..

 I need to find a couple faux strawberries for the vignette ! Hope I can find them before the June cottage is finished :)

 I am very excited because last year I stitched July and August of both the wordplay and the monthly cottage so all I have to do is mount them :) If you would like to see February , March , April and May ..just click on the month !

I Painted My Bedroom Furniture !

 Last week, my daughter and I with the help of 2 sons ( the sons didn't paint they were only physical labor ) and 1 girlfriend painted our bedroom furniture! The bedroom set was old I think 26 years old. and it was ugly ! We have talked about getting new furniture but there was always something else was needed , so it gets pushed to the end of the list. We used homemade chalk paint..

 There was a whole bed wall for the headboard and my son took it and the two cabinets  that were on top off , so we are just left with the nightstands and the back of the bed wall. This whole process has made our bedroom look so much bigger. I am on the lookout for a king size headboard to paint..We spray painted all the knobs and handles instead of buying new.. they were a brass color.

 There was ugly stained glass in the cabinets on the top of the hutch .. I was going to take the hutch part off the dresser and just buy a mirror to hang on the wall, but I turned the glass over so it was smooth and painted it with chalkboard paint.

It was a great way to lose the stained glass!

 We painted all the furniture in the bedroom.. slid boards and dropcloths under each piece. We had all the drawers lined up in the bathrooms.. It only took one day to paint it all but it took a couple days to get everything back in order.. It was so worth it ! I got new burlap lampshades at Hobby Lobby ..they are the round drum shaped ones shown below.

 They look so much better! This whole project was right around $100.00 including the lampshades! While this was going on my husband was out of town on a business trip, and he had no idea this was going on .. He did ask why I went with off white and not a color :) I just couldn't decide on a color so off white it was !
