Two More Quilt as You Go String Quilts

Good morning!
There are 2 more quilts for the animals to wallow on ! :)

First of all the Christmas quilt I made with Walmart fat quarters ..They are 6-1/2 inch squares .. 9 squares wide and 13 squares long ..I added a white jelly roll to this quilt that I bought at Joanne fabrics ..I had this all sewn before Christmas but it needed backing and binding and I just couldn't fit that in ..so it got finished this weekend.

The second quilt is Farm Fresh Fabric from Moda .. these are 7-1/2 inch squares and we used the 8 inch precut batting squares from Fat Quarter Shop .. I used 2 jelly rolls and added red check and black check fabric cut in 2-1/2 inch strips

8 squares across and 11 squares down .. I sewed the jelly roll pieces together for a scrappy binding and used red checks for the back of the quilt ..don't you just love those fabrics ! Black , red , aqua ..with chickens and cows!

Can you tell the animals love them ? :) I still have one more that is all finished except the binding .. just 4 inch squares of really pretty springy fabrics .. and Chelsea has a string quilt that just needs backing and binding ..

Strip Quilt-a-rama

Good morning!
This weekend we finished up 2 strip quilts and made progress on a 3rd! This is my quilt as you go strip quilt using the Swell Christmas jelly rolls and also white fabric added in ..These blocks are 9-1/2 inches..

These quilts are really fast and fun because you do most of the quilting before it gets sandwiched together ..

The colors in this fabric are beautiful soft vintage Christmas colors and I just love it!

and now for the cutest baby quilt model ...
We also finished the quilt that Chelsea put together all the blocks for Cash .. this was also a jelly roll

of cute little farm animals!

Layla of course had to get in on the action :)

For both of these we did a scrappy binding of leftover jelly roll pieces .. Mine has a red and white stripe backing , and Chelsea's quilt for Cash has an aqua animal print ..

I also sewed a bunch more of the blocks for this quilt .. these are the little fat quarter rolls we got at Walmart .. This one looks amazing too! My obsession with all things buffalo check continues! These and the baby quilt are 6-1/2 inches

We Made Halloween Qullts part 2

Good morning!
Only 2 more days til Halloween and both of our quilts are finally finished! We used 4 inch squares and they are twin size quilts ..there are 432 squares in each quilt .. Last year we made our first Halloween Quilts

We started them October 6 th and used mostly fabrics that I had in my craft room .. We did add some from the The Loopy ewe who had given us a cute bundle of Hallowen prints..

Since we finished these new ones had to be started ..I found these fabrics at Walmart .. they are fat quarters and I am using the quilt as you go method for making a strip quilt and these squares are 6-1/2 inches

This one is Swell Christmas jelly rolls with white snowflake fabric added .. It is also quilt as you go with 9 inch blocks ..It just needs backing and binding and a little more quilting :) It is also twin size

Chelsea started a baby quilt for Cash with a jelly roll and the quilt as you go string quilt .. her blocks are also 6-1/2 inches .. It is little farm fabrics and super cute!

For the Halloween quilts I used candy corn for backing and another candy corn fabric for binding ..You can see even the Halloween cat approves :) As you can see we want our quilts to be used and they are already getting great workouts!

Quilts in 2017

Good morning! I love these yearly posts and I think this will be a new category.. I have said that I won't make another quilt until I buy a walking foot for my sewing machine .. hopefully that will make it easier!
I can't believe that my daughter and I made 2 quilts each this year ! I had been wanting to make one for a couple years since I have quite a few Halloween and Christmas fabrics in my sewing room!
She kept pestering me so we made them ...we each made a quilt in a weekend of simple 4 inch squares !Halloween quilts

and our Christmas quilts!

Both holidays together! I also made a table runner out of the strips that I had sewn together but didn't use!
