Scarves ..Birthdays ..Football and Christmas

Good Morning !
I hope you all had wonderful Christmas celebrations ! Christmas decorations stay up here until New Years day at least :) I have still been crocheting my favorite infinity scarves from this pattern ..My daughter has a lot of these scarves but wanted these 2 colors..Pale grey and pale rose ..When I make these for my daughter since she likes them smaller I use a J hook ( I crochet a little loosely ) and instead of chaining 160 I chain 140 .. They wrap twice around her neck and are still full ..

Today is my daughters 27th birthday ! Happy Birthday Chelsea !

Two weeks ago we got the best news for our football playing son ..He was at a Junior college in California last semester hoping to scholarship out to a D1 college to play football..On Monday December 15 San Diego State offered him a full ride scholarship to be their punter ! We couldn't be more excited for him !!

He signed his letter of intent to play sitting at our dining room table :)

De-Christmasing And Winterizing !

Good Morning ! I have been kind of slow this year putting away all the Christmas decorations .. I just wasn't ready for my favorite time of year to be over ! My big chalkboard in the kitchen has been winterized ! Don't you love it ! I will be back tomorrow to show you my Winter Kitchen !

I have been crocheting more of those square scarves ! So fun and easy ! The navy and black have sparkly yarn and the top one is a grey blue variegated. There was a cream and gold sparkly one too , but my daughter has already taken it :)

The big ( real ) tree is coming down today , garbage day is tomorrow and I wanted to enjoy it for all the days I could ! I always keep up 2 trees for the month of January , Can't just go cold -turkey treeless ! This year I kept up the owl tree on the stairs and the snowman tree in the family room .

My first cross stitch ornament for 2014 , of course its Prairie Schooler ( there's a lot of stitches in that little ornament !!

We have had so much snow this past week , 18 inches in a 2 day period , and now it is going to be -17 tonight and -14 for the high tomorrow ! A lot of schools around here are closing ! Hope you stay warm !

I Have Been Busy !

Thought I would show you what I have been up to !

The big flower blanket is finished ! Except for sewing in all the million and one ends :) It will get its own post when its finished, It is a huge blanket !! I think its my favorite blanket ever !

I crocheted myself a cowl 2 nights ago , have the youngest sons last sophomore football game to go to tonight and I am definitely going to need to dress warm ! If you to this post there is a link to the pattern for the cowl.

I made a stack of crocheted Halloween dishcloths for my basket by the sink ..

I picked the last of my zinnias ..they froze 3 nights ago , so no more zinnias ! Next year twice as many will be planted !

Some of them were so huge !

My oldest son and daughter in law inherited last years Halloween decomesh wreath , Looks great on their door, of their beautiful home !! I am still waiting on my daughter for a picture of her door with her Halloween wreath ..ummm, Chelsea ? :) She's been busy too :)

I had some help baking cookies ..

I've been doing some cross stitch, Mary's Sampler from Plum Street Samplers.. its a stitch along , with a new part every Sunday . I didn't have time until this Sunday to start it , so I did the whole 4 parts last Sunday .

Working on October Wordplay from With Thy Needle and thread .. hope to finish it soon and get it finished so it can be used this year !

Making some baby football hats and diaper covers for an order.. Need to finish these up today !

My daughter and I took on a furniture painting extravaganza this week with some help of my son and his girlfriend.. I will share this next week .. I am still sore and tired !
