The Garden 2016

2016 is almost over.. so today let's take a walk back through the garden ! As soon as Christmas is over I want to garden ..but here in the Midwest I have a few months to wait!
I love hydrangeas and this year they were gorgeous!

Bee balm that multiplies like weeds!

Love using galvanized buckets in the garden

Zinnias are my favorites..

come on in !

Lots of coneflowers lining the back sidewalk

Zinnia bouquets were picked every few days..

more Zinnias ...coneflowers and snapdragons

of course there were vegetables... lots of beans in green, yellow and purple.. cucumbers, and peppers.

The sunflowers were huge!

The wildlife patrol.. mice..chipmunks ..squirrels..don't come in her yard!

lots of tomatoes to make my roasted tomato sauce ..otherwise called "yard Sauce" around here :)
This sunflower looks like its giving the zinnias below a shower..
The bees were very busy!
These sunflowers were huge!
a perfect pretty little zinnia..
Mums ,hydrangeas and pumpkins..

I can't wait to do it all again this year!
I hope you all have a wonderful year in 2017! Thank you so much to all of you who read and comment faithfully! I appreciate all of you!
Happy New Year! Be safe!

Picking the Pumpkins 2016

It's that pumpkin picking time of year again!
The pumpkin patch was supposed to open Wednesday afternoon , but because of rain it didn't open until Thursday ..They are sold by the carload so it was time to fill up the car :)

Look at all those pinkish and aqua pumpkins.. Don't you just love this time of the year!

I came home with 109 pumpkins and a bunch of gourds..

My front flower bed is lined with all the pumpkins.. there are some on the porch and in the vintage wheelbarrow and rusty wagon..

a galvanized tub that I filled up with empty pots upside down so it looked like a full tub of gourds but they are just sitting on the top.. pumpkins and gourds got added to all the flower pots..

I just mowed the lawn yesterday and it already looks too long in these photos.. I have been mowing twice a week and we haven't really been having that much rain ! I will be back soon to show you more of the Fall front porch!
Happy Fall!

Fall in the Foyer 2016

Good morning! Happy Fall!
The foyer is all set for the Fall season..
Fall stitching.. sweater pumpkins.. and hydrangeas from my garden ..

a little Fall chalkboard..sitting in a wrought iron 2 tiered tray filled with sunflowers..
a diy bookpage pumpkin sits on a vintage scale on top of a cream colored cake pedestal.
In the corner by the front door is this vignette .. more hydrangeas from the garden .. a handmade scarecrow my neighbor made.. cotton branches.. a thifted basket ..fall stitching mounted on a chalkboard..
I found this big blue basket at the Good will for $1.99 and cut hydrangeas from the yard to fill it. The stool came from a flea market this summer .. a huge sweater pumpkin and a diy subway art ..

In the garden.. August 8,2016

Good morning!
I hope you all had great weekends!
Time for another walk through the garden ..
My hydrangeas are still blooming and I love that there are so many different colors on each plant!
Coneflowers are still looking good even though it has been so hot and dry here. We did have rain last week finally!
The Rose of Sharon is huge!
I am loving this pot of zinnias and snapdragons..

The top sunflower has an identity crisis going on .. its got just a few striped petals..
Limelight hydrangea, annabelle hydranges and lots of coneflowers and zinnias!
The chipmunk hunter..
Vanilla /Strawberry hydrangeas starting to get a little strawberried.. aren't they just the prettiest!
the prettiest zinnia in the patch..
The mailbox garden..
That is one stalk of sunflowers.. so many blooms!
The first roasted tomato sauce from the garden ..
I had to move the vintage wheelbarrow out from behind the zinnias because they got too tall!

Always love to pick the zinnias
