A Jar Full of Winter

Good morning! 

The Mason jar chalkboard is full of Winter! So far winter is kind of eluding us here north of Chicago ..but today we are supposed to get measurable snow ! 

Snowmen wearing mittens .. a cozy house all lit up inside .. mittens and ice skates

This frame is very vintage ..I added chalkboard to it .. and it hangs above the vintage buffet in the family room

There is an oval tiered tray full of little houses all dressed up for Winter .. The stitched piece is Seasonal Celebrations from Country Cottage Needlworks ..Winter

The Mason Jars are Here!

Happy Saturday! 

This is such an exciting day! The chalkboard Mason Jars  are here! All the time I get requests for the jars to become charts and so it begins!

First up is the Harvest Jar ..they come with 2 charts .. the jar and a small .. and so far 7 in the series ..

The series is called ChalkFull and I got to draw the logo :) This is a chalkboard to cross stitch collaboration with Hands On Design .. This is the 5th series .. and series 4 is still ongoing .. Farmhouse Chalk .. and just wait until you see that ! Oh my gosh it's amazing!
Cathy does a great job making the chalkboards come to life as stitched pieces!

I bought the enamel sign   at  Hobby Lobby ( in the enamel section) for the jar and the enamel bucket ( in the spring shop)for the small also came from Hobby Lobby .. ..
I mounted the jar stitching on sticky board.. and then covered another sticky board in big black gingham checks .. I glued the two of them together and used magnets on the back to attach to the enamel sign.. I made a bow with black gingham ribbon and added a sunflower and a magnet on the back . Super simple finishing but I love it!

For the small I cut an oval piece of sticky board .. then layered 2 layers of batting .. under the stitching .. I added 2 torn black check ruffles of different sizes and a piece of green gingham that I knotted for texture every inch and half or so .. 4 little sunflowers are glued to the ruffles ..

You will love stitching these .. I cannot even express to you how much I love them

Liberty Jar is the retreat piece for the Midwest Cross Stitch retreat that is taking place this weekend in Minnesota  .. the attendees have been stitching this since February but were not allowed to show it on social media until this weekend so everyone would be surprised! Are you surprised ? :)

This one won't be out until next Spring so it's exclusive to the retreat attendees until then ..

A Jar Full of Bunnies!

Happy Saturday friends!
The spring decor is moving in !
Yesterday I just had to get these bunnies stuffed in their jar :)

This chalkboard is in a vintage frame in the family room .. It has had snowmen in it up until now ..

I just love the bunnies and the carrots! I am not even close to all the spring decor being out but these bunnies were screaming to be drawn :)

The bunny in the top of the tiered tray is a Prairie Schooler and of course there is hippity hop from the Carrots and Cottontails Farm chart !

A Jar Full of Merry!

 Good morning!
What's better than a jar full of merry ?

 The frame is a vintage one from a flea market that I had a board cut to fit ..

 It hangs above my vintage buffet in the family room .. The top of the buffet has an oval tiered tray that is mostly filled with little putz type houses.. some new some vintage ..

 The stitched piece is from Country Cottage Needleworks .. and the little piece on the  pedestal is a Lizzie Kate ..

A Jar Full of Jacks!

Good morning!

I loved my Mason Jar chalkboard so much I needed to have it look Halloweenish .. so here it is!

 What's better than a vintage blue mason jar filled with jack o Lanterns! Don't you all grow jack o lanterns in your gardens :)

 This vintage buffet in my family room is a mix of Fall and Halloween .. most vignettes I have done contain one or the other but this one is both! The tiered tray is oval ..the bottom shelf has a Autumn Rae Dunn platter ..cotton branches and fall leaves.. the middle shelf has vintage chickens in fall colors ..more cotton and a burlap pumpkin .. the top holds a stitched Annie Beez Folkart piece that is mounted on a vintage silver tray..

 I always think after I draw a chalkboard that I would love to stitch it ... but this one I NEED to stitch it!

 With Thy Needle and Thread October wordplay .. also mounted on a vintage tray ..and it got a homespun ruffle update this year ..Thanks so much for stopping by!

Oval Tiered Tray for Fall

Good morning!

I have 2 galvanized tiered trays that I decorate for the seasons .. yesterday I showed you the round one that sits in my kitchen .. today it is the oval one that sits in my family room .. Both were purchased at Sam's club a couple years ago ..This vignette is on top of my vintage buffet in the family room..

The top of this one holds a cross stitched Fall piece Thankful Pumpkins from Annie Beez Folk art that I mounted on an old silver crusty tray :) pumpkins, sweater pumpkins, sunflowers, cotton stems ..black check ribbon and torn fabric a little vintage truck and Fall colored chickens ..

 This pumpkin with a crow is a freebie from With Thy Needle and Thread I stitched it in 2013 and just was tired of the finish so I revamped it and put it on this planked pumpkin from Walmart .. I took it off its original sticky board and mounted it on a smaller piece of sticky board .. then added torn homespun and of course a washer and magnet so I can change it out ..

 I changed out the Mason Jar chalkboard to sunflowers and absolutely LOVE it!

 The truck was a gift to the little grandsons from my neighbor and the kids let me "use it" It has a little olive bucket in the back with a sweater pumpkin and fall leaves ..

Red White and Blue in a Mason Jar

 Good morning!
I changed out the tulips for red and white stripe flowers... and it is amazing!

 This chalkboard is in a vintage frame in the family room over a vintage buffet .. for the Spring it was full of tulips and now it is all red, white and blue!

 On the buffet I also have another galvanized tiered tray .. this one is oval .. Lots of patriotic goodies are on display ..and of course lots of stitching!

Daisies and Mason Jar Chalkboard

 Happy Tuesday !
I wasn't ready to give up the mason jar chalkboard that hangs in our kitchen .so I changed up the flowers..

 Gone are the daffodils replaced by daisies ! I erased the board down to where the Ball is on the jar ..and then started adding daisies.

 I love the aqua blue , yellow and white .. seems so springy !

 I added a couple bees and the month May .. also a blue and white stripe ribbon around the jar ..

 Every chalkboard I do becomes my favorite and then I do another that becomes my favorite ..this one is definitely my favorite!( until the next one :) Did you see the little photo bomber in almost all of the photos ? I think she thinks she is famous :) The  daffodil chalkboard
