Christmas Dining Room 2013

Today I am showing you our dining room decorated for Christmas ! When we remodeled in the spring we got this new dining room set , so this year our dining room looks totally different !
I loved decorating the hutch with Fitz and Floyd Santas, I have some on the inside as well as on this ledge and on the buffet. The glittery house is from Homegoods, I have a Dept. 56 Santa in the cloche.
In the china cabinet , I kept my estate sale cream colored dishes, added some Fitz and Floyd , and some big sparkly ornaments in the bowls, with some greenery springs... On top I have some roosters and a flocked garland.
The chandelier is amber colored , the walls are a pale grey .. It was so nice to decorate this room !

I used an old quilt for a table runner, and placed the burlap wreath I made in the center. I used a silver tray on top of that and that's where my biggest Fitz and Floyd Santa sits..he is a fabulous piece !.. I used fresh greens from the bottom of our Christmas tree, dried hydrangeas from our garden..some platinum colored sprigs and some ornaments from the Dollar Tree. The book page trees are also on the table , one is on a pedestal plate .. There is also a stack of the cute BHG dishes from Walmart .. I got the barn scene salad plates.. Love them !
For our table setting ,there are red chargers.. I am using the white plates from Dollar Tree , with plaid homespun napkins and the BHG plates from Walmart ..
I got this little glass canister at GoodWill yesterday added a truck ornament and some trees from the village on top of snow.. added a ribbon to the top  and look how cute :)

I hung this book page wreath in the window..the room has a lot of book pages going on ! I just noticed the blue in the photo..I got the blue hour look by accident !

On the buffet , there is more Fitz and Floyd , Dept. 56 Santas , and a cross stitch project I just finished. It is a Plum Street Sampler design , Mary's Sampler.. I framed it with a burlap background in a thrift store frame.

This tree with the book page ornaments sits in the corner. Its got burlap for garland , burlap flowers , book page ornaments , and all glittery silvery platinum ornaments ..It sits in an old galvanized bucket. This is one of 13 trees in our house this year !

Part of the Christmas  village extends into the dining room ..It is wrapped around this tree in the living room.. you can see our Christmas kitchen here..

Thanks so much for your visits and nice comments ! I truly appreciate each and every one of you !

Christmas Crafting..Book Page Trees

Look at the cuteness of these book page trees ! We have made book page tree toppers and wreaths and book page ornaments , and now trees ! They are #fabulouslyfestive ! This is my last post of the year for Joann Fabrics and Crafts Stores. I have really enjoyed creating some fun things , and am thankful for the opportunities !

Lets make some trees ! To make them you need an old book , cardboard cone shapes, we purchased these at Joann Fabrics, we got 2 different sizes,a hot glue gun and glue, also some glittery pipe cleaners to make a star , and ribbon for the bow at the top... You use the same technique to roll the pages, as we did on the bookpage tree topper..  only the pages are cut in half.  Just keep making rows, try and keep them straight .. I went up about 1- 1-1/2 inches for every row.
We actually made them 2 ways, above we stapled the tubes before gluing.. it gives a more flat tree especially at the top. Below we did not staple just glue the tubes on. I prefer this way , I think the trees look better .
We used glitter pipecleaners, and bent them in a star shape ..2 for each tree to make the star three dimensional ,and just glued them with hot glue. We set them on top of Ball Jars filled with small ornaments .. The tree in the back is the stapled version , the tree in the front is the not stapled cones. They look very different , you just have to decide which version you like better :)
I am using mine on my dining room table ... I will be back to show you the whole dining room tomorrow ! There's a whole lot of book pages going on in there !

Use this coupon on the pipecleaners ! The cones are on sale.. This was a very inexpensive project and the finished project looks amazing ! I Used my burlap wreath for the centerpiece.. There is a tutorial there on how to make one. Visit Joann Fabrics http://bit.ly/1dZqWsw !

Christmas Village 2013

The Christmas Village is up and it is #fabulouslyfestive !! This is another one of my favorite things about Christmas , The Village..This year it is located in the living room and dining room ! I am honored to be doing another post for Joann Fabrics !
This was last years village you can see the post here .. I think this years is so much better !

Over the years I have collected a lot of the light up village houses, most of them from Joann Fabrics. This is my husbands job to put out the village , and this year it was a little iffy if it was going to get put out! In past years we have used our dining room table , and moved it to the wall and set the village up on that . With getting the new dining room furniture we didn't want to do that.
So between my husband and myself we came up with the idea to raise up this tree and start the village around it. Underneath the white felt are plastic crates , Rubbermaid containers, Rubbermaid bins , wood shelves, and cardboard boxes :) We use white felt to drape the whole village set up and then set up the houses . Bags of fake snow , and all the little accessories get added.
I think my husband did an amazing job getting it all up .
Joann Fabrics has such cute houses and I am hoping there are a couple more new ones coming home !

This tree with the book page tree topper is the perfect place for the village !
You can find all the supplies to create your own village at Joann Fabrics and Crafts stores ! The houses , accessories , snow, felt , lighting cords , all of it ! The best part is its all on sale !!! I hope if you don't have a village you decide this year to create one ! It is truly a magical part of our Christmas decorations !
 Joann Fabrics ..
I will be back tomorrow with another #fabulouslyfestive post ! My daughter and I had another all day craft-a-thon that I will share with you !
Thanks so much for your visits and nice comments !

Christmas Kitchen 2013

I love to decorate our kitchen for Christmas ! This year I loved it even more because of the remodel ! So much more open so everything can be seen better!

The table is all set for lunch ! Wish you could all come over ! I have a huge thing for Fitz and Floyd Christmas pieces and they are all over the kitchen !
There is a Fitz and Floyd Santa on the table as a centerpiece.. The table is set with Dollar Tree white plates , the bowls and cups came from a church rummage sale, along with the big bowl ! My subway art table runner is on the table too.
There was a regular doorway here last year , we took about 4 feet off the wall and took out the header over the door so its more open..

This doorway got opened up too , along with taking down the wall in the foyer..

I love the candy cane kitchen tree even more this year with the addition of the chalkboard ornaments !
My daughter and I painted this oak hutch ,you can see the transformation here .
The inside is painted light grey , the same color as the living room /dining room..Its filled mostly with my estate sale , goodwill , rummage sale thrifty treasures !

A little vignette on the hutch , my vintage scale, a chalkboard, ice skate ornament and of course some Fitz and Floyd !

From the family room into the kitchen hangs this DIY chalkboard I made with a garage sale frame. I got the chairs for the table at an Estate sale for $35.00 for the 4 of them ..The table came from Craigs list.

I made this little framed chalkboard from a Good Will frame , wrote the word JOY and framed it with a little wreath .. More Fitz and Floyd on the vintage scale. Greenery and hydrangeas from the garden..

Here is another of my favorite Fitz and Floyd Santas.. he is in a thrifted basket with a miniature tree .
I love the wreaths in the windows at Christmas time.. I just bought wreaths at Michaels, added a few floral picks, and tie them up with red check ribbons. There is more Fitz and Floyd over the refrigerator with some greenery
