The chalkboard is made from a rummage sale find.. with a board cut to fit and painted with chalkboard paint.. It is one of my favorite decorating pieces to change out for the holidays and seasons..

Spring Stitchy Finishes

Happy Monday!
I hope you had a great weekend!
I did some Spring cross stitch finishing today..A friend of mine on Instagram had 2 of these bunny charts and she asked me if I wanted one and she mailed it to me .. It was such a quick stitch I started it last night and finished it early this morning.. I found this frame at the Good Will for $1.99 ( it was gold ) and chalk painted it cream. I did a black gingham on the bias for the background and two different black check ribbons for a bow with a rose check covered button..

a little vintagy lace trim on the bottom and it is so cute!

Yesterday I finished up the small chart from Prairie Schooler Spring has come.. I found this frame at Hobby Lobby and took the clip off of it . It is one of those clip board frames. I used magnets on the back of the frame and small sheet metal pieces on the back of my stitching so I can stitch other small Prairie Schooler charts and use the same frame.

Green gingham on the bias and a burlap bow with a black covered button finish the top..

Then the Lizzie Kate February .. This frame is also from The Good Will 99cents.. it was also gold ...but chalk paint fixes everything! :)
I also did the magnets, sheet metal on this one so I can stitch all the months and have one for every month .. I better get busy on March :)
All of these are stitched on  28 count coffee/tea dyed evenweave..
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Chalk For The Home.. Tulip House

 Happy Friday!
Remember my secret stitching project? Well... here it is all finished and on display!
So....
About a year and a half ago  Cathy from Hands On Design asked me to create some chalkboards that she would chart for counted cross stitch( O.M.G. so exciting!) .. we did 7 designs and those were all in Just Cross Stitch Magazine..Cathy does an amazing job translating chalk to thread!
It still makes me so happy to see these being stitched and posted about on Social Media.. :)

Then this summer she asked if I would like to do more .. so...(woohoo! of course!!!)This new series is called Chalk for the Home ..this chart is Tulip House from Hands On Design... you get both the large and small pieces in one chart..There will be 4 designs starting with this one and you will be able to purchase them at Needlework shops..

the chalkboards..

Hands On Design added 3 new photos.
Announcing Chalk for the HOME! Priscilla (of that wonderful blog priscillas2000.blogspot.com
) & I have teamed up again to bring you a 4-part series.
Tulip House will release 1st at Nashville Market!
Each chart will feature a larger HOME design and a smaller seasonal design.
Please 'like', share & call your shopowner
Above are Cathy's stitched and finished pieces.. They are stitched on 32 count slate linen..aren't they just gorgeous!

I stitched mine on 28 count black evenweave .. the frame I found at Hobby Lobby.
I hot glued magnets to the chicken wire and small pieces of sheet metal to the back of my piece , so I can change it out with the seasons..I added a little nail to the wood at the top to hang the small Spring piece from so that's easy to change out too.. I made a bow of 3 different black and white ribbons and fabric and that is what is hung from the nail. I added a few sprigs of spring flowers to the bow..
The frame came with the chalkboard and chicken wire in it. It worked out perfectly!

I hung it in my kitchen so I can see it all the time.. I hope all my stitchy friends love these and can't wait to stitch them! They are even prettier in person! One more week and they make their debut at the Nashville market and then you will be able to get them and stitch them up! I know you will love displaying them in your home!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Spring Has Sprung In The Galvanized Tiered Tray

 Good morning!
I couldn't stick with winter any longer ... all the Spring is coming out! Our weather here in the Chicago area has been so weird this winter.. everyone else has been getting snow but not us .. today it will be 60 degrees in February and 50's and 60's into next week! We have had lots of the cloudy dreary days though..not liking that!
I loved just replacing the Winter Seasons In Chalk with the Spring .. Hope all my stitchy friends are ready for the next chalk design .. It is amazing! Only a couple more weeks until its out!
You all know how much I love this galvanized tiered tray overflowing with goodies of each season!
Lots of tulips, eggs, chickens, bunnies ( moss and wood) black and white check ribbons and mason jars!

A little spring burlap banner held by a moss bunny..Still loving the change of wall color in the kitchen! sometimes it looks light grey, sometimes greyish aqua and sometimes greyish green!
a little spring chalkboard front and center
Have a wonderful weekend!

A February Finish

 Good morning!
Last night I finished stitching this February Prairie Schooler and finished it up this morning!
There is a lot of "snow" in the bottom of this piece !
I bought the pedestal  frame at Michael's last spring ..The stitching is mounted on sticky needlework board and then attached to the red gingham with hot glue. I use magnets on the frame and small pieces of sheet metal to attach the stitching to the frame. I have all the months stitched except for September , October  November, and December.. I wasn't going to stitch September and October because I wasn't crazy about them , but I think I need to so I have them all ! :) Prairie Schooler Hoarders anonymous over here !

In the chart there were 2 groundhogs.. I thought they looked too cartoonish so I found some cardinals on other Prairie Schooler charts and stitched those in the place of the groundhogs. I mounted it on red gingham fabric on the bias..

Be My Valentine Chalkboard

Good morning!
There is a new chalkboard in the house for Valentines Day!
and if you are a regular reader of my blog you will notice the kitchen is no longer yellow! It is rainwashed ( blue, grey, green) I love the change!
The chalkboard is in a thrifted frame that I had a board cut to fit and I change it out seasonally.. It hangs in the entrance to the kitchen from the family room.. I think it turned out so pretty ! About another week of the winter decor and I will be springing it up around here! Hope you are having a great week!
