Another Giant Granny Square Blanket

 Good morning :)  Last week I couldn't help myself .. I started a new blanket. I am making another giant granny square blanket. The yarn is all red heart except the watermelon color. That color is from Michaels.

 I wanted to go with a summery color scheme .. and I wanted something I didn't have to think while making it :)

 Its getting bigger !

I got this pillow cover at Hobby LObby with my 40% off coupon , It was $4.00 and change after the coupon. I got this broach in the wedding department and cut the button off the pillow cover and pinned the broach on. The pin was $2.50 ( 50% 0ff) so for under $7.00 I got a new pillow .. I have to go back and get another set for the other chair. I don 't think I could have made one for that much money !

Mason jars and Garden Markers

Happy Tuesday ! Last week my daughter and I ran into the Good Will and bought some Mason Jars..We used 2 colors of acrylic paint and 1 sample paint from Lowes to paint the inside of the jars. We added ribbon and twine to the rm of the jars .. I placed mine on a pedestal platter on my kitchen table. We put water in them for the flowers and the paint seems ok. I think they turned out really cute :)  We already stocked up on more jars for future projects !

 I also made some row markers for my garden. I got the little fences and hearts at Hobby Lobby, ( they are really cheap, and already painted:) ) , my son drilled holes in the top of the hearts for the ribbon to go through. I used a paint marker to put the different vegetable names on.

 I tied the markers to the garden fence with twine.

 I planted our garden last week , we had temperatures in the 80' s .. I had to cover everything in the garden Saturday and Sunday night because of frost. Everything seems ok and hopefully thats the last of that cold weather !! We planted potatoes, both in the ground and in 2 big pots.Spinach, Tomatoes, green beans , zucchini , cucumbers, peppers , eggplant and some herbs ( basil, parsley , cilantro ). Hope this is a good year for the garden :) The strawberries are blooming like crazy .. Can't wait for those !
Hope all you Moms were spoiled by your children on MOther's day , I sure was and am very proud and appreciative of all my Kids !

Vintage toolbox and birdhouses

 Good morning ! Thanks for visiting .. I found this vintage tool box at a flea market last year for $10.00 .. I wanted a little bit of spring in it and found these wooden birdhouses at Joann fabrics.. They were in those dollar bins. I painted them off white and found some wood to stack them on in the toolbox.

 The greenery is a garland from Hobby Lobby and the daisies I had left over from the porch pillow and wreath. I had to add some of that black and white check burlap ribbon.

It just makes a cute springy addition to the foyer.

 I still haven't filled up the top of the china cabinet , I have put things in and taken them back out :) I think I want either off white or aqua dishes in there but haven't found the right ones yet. Hopefully I can get some dishes and fill it up soon !! We still also need a chandelier..Thats another decision !

 It makes the kitchen and dining room seem so much bigger with the wider doorway... So glad we lived through that mess to do it.

 I used this metal basket for a little vignette on the server top... I found the aqua bird at Michaels, the brown bird on the metal at Hobby Lobby.. Used some of my Grandmothers china to stack the bird on and added some greenery.I still need something on the wall here too.. It all takes time :)

 We celebrated 2 birthdays on Saturday , My oldest son turned 33 in April and we just haven't had the whole family together til Saturday .. The second to youngest son turned 19 on Friday ..

 The youngest grandson got his first haircut on Saturday .. We were all there to watch ! He is just Mr. Adorable :) He didn't cry or fuss , just got the job done.

 Saturday was also Prom for my middle childs girlfriend.. I took ALOT of pictures ! His girlfriend is 2 years younger and this was their second prom.. He has been to 5 proms ! I should have bought a tux instead of renting them every year :)

Finally Finished ! The puffy flower blanket and Santa Stocking !

 Good morning ! I finally finished sewing in the ends of my puffy flower blanket .. It is staying in the living room for now.. The aqua and turquoise colors look really pretty with the gray..

 It measures 62 inches by 84 inches..here is the pattern

 I also finished stitching  the year and a half or more long stocking project. This stocking is made by Dimensions ( its a kit)   So many color changes and getting lost and having to redo.. So glad its done.. but I think the new one I started is even worse with color changes !

 I finished a couple more Prairie Schooler Santas, and started another one. Going to have to start finishing them into ornaments !
 This week I had to go for Jury duty... I went on Monday and they let us out at 11:30 for the day, they didn't use any of the 130 jurors they had that day .. I didn't have to go back Tuesday , and yesterday I went but again no jurors were used and we were out by 11:30 and they said we were done for the week ! Can't beat that :)

I started this stocking for my youngest son, got some stitching time in while sitting waiting at Jury duty.
We have had a couple days of really nice weather , but now its back in the 40's ,going to be in the 50's the whole weekend. Hoping to plant our vegetable garden the first of next week if its not too wet and cold. Hoping for some nice weather :)
My college boy is on his way home from Kentucky .. this year seemed to go by so fast ..

Daisy porch pillow

 Good morning , and thanks for stopping by ! Last week I decided to make a pillow to go with the Burlap Daisy Wreath on our front door.  This was all a use what I had ( do it the cheapest way ! LOL !)

 I had an old pillow from a chair we got rid of so I made a cover for it in muslin sewing 3 sides , then folding the last side up and HOT GLUED it  :) Since this is on the front porch and will most likely get thrown away after a year or two I didn't want to spend too much time on it.

 I had this black polka dot fabric so I just cut it in strips and hot glued them down. First one direction then the other.

 I then took strips of this gingham black/ white and hot glued ruffles around the pillow.

 I added the 3 daisies that I pulled off a big bunch of them and glued those on top.

 I think it looks perfect and was basically free using what scraps I had around here !
