In the garden July 24, 2016

Hello!
Since I didn't do a garden post last week ..this one has alot of photos from the past 2 weeks!
The hydrangeas have been so pretty .. but last night we had hard rains and all the Annabelle hydrangeas in the front look beaten up! I hope they spring back..
I am not a big day lilly fan but these are pretty..

The zinnias are doing well.. but the flowers and plants are not as big as past years.. wonder if it's been our total lack of rain , cooler spring or that I planted them a little later..

The coneflowers are doing great and line our back sidewalk ..along with lots of zinnias..

Lots of zinnias! Just how I like them!

Love these special colored sunflowers..
Love anything galvanized or rusty or old in the garden!
The rose of Sharon is starting to bloom..This will be its last year in this spot.. it is just too hard to keep it small enough .So I will dig it out after it is finished blooming..
Coneflowers ..russian sage and zinnias..
I planted zinnias seeds and a few snapdragons in this pot and they just started blooming .. such pretty colors!
Sunrise and pink geraniums!
My first batch of beans from the garden .. need to go out and pick some more when I am finisahed with this post! Can't wait for the tomatoes to really start!
Love this fancy orangey pink coneflower ..and the black eyed susans are starting to bloom.

A Stitchy Update July 2016

Good morning!
I thought I would give you an update of what I have been stitching!
This first one is the first collection of chalkboard ornaments from Hands On Design .. Finished one and started the 2nd .. love them . stitching them on 28 count black monaco ..
Please ignore all dog hair >> :)

August from the Prairie Schooler.. hoping to finish before August! We took a trip to Danbury Ct. this past weekend and I brought this piece and also the Lizzie Kate and only stitched a little on the PS piece.. Usually I get a lot stitched on the plane but this time our flights were both super early and late so I ended up sleeping!
I saw in a post on Instagram yesterday from Beachcottagestitchers.com that Prairie Schooler charts are going to continue to be released! Hoping for some of the oldies to make a comeback! Isn't that great news!

A little got stitched on Lizzie Kate's Halloween Rules..
and some more stitches on Moment in Chalk also from Hands On Design..

Santa's Village from Country Cottage Needleworks.. Trying for one chart a month ..I need to get going to finish this months! Still haven't figured out what I will do with it when it is finished..I need to try and get more stitching in on all of these!

Seasons in Chalk Art Halloween ..Boo!

Good morning!
I know it is almost the 4th of July .. but it is time for Halloween.. Stitching that is :)
The next in the Seasons in Chalk series is out for download now in the Just Cross Stitch special Halloween issue! So you can get started stitching this Halloween cutie!!

This photo is Cathy ( Hands on Design) stitching on the left and my chalkboard on the right.. This was taken on my front porch last fall .. Cathy does such a great job turning my chalk doodles into cross stitch ! I love stitching these .. seems so many of you are loving these also! We have talked about doing more once this series ends.. YAY! I hope it happens!
Mine is mounted on the vintage paint by number frame I got at an estate sale.. it sits on top of a board painted with chalkboard paint....Magnets on top of the board and small pieces of sheet metal on the back of the stitching..so I can change it out with the seasons.. I stitched it on a 28 count hand dyed Monaco evenweave I got from Etsy.. GaribaldisNeedlework

Isn't it fabulous on white too!
