Stitching Chalkboards

 Good morning !
I was so excited when I saw this cross stitch series that looks like chalkboards..The designer is Hands On Design.. I finished the stitching this weekend and knew exactly how I wanted to finish these designs..
I had seen these cute little chalkboards at Michael's so I got my coupons out and picked one up ..

It is on dispay in the foyer, with some other wintery things..

I made a backing using black gingham check .. I might try to find a smaller check pattern fabric and change it out ..but this was what I already had here. I used my sheet metal ..magnet way to display it so I can just change it out for the next month.. I need to get February's stitched !
I finished another Prairie Schooler Santa last night .. I only have 6 of the yearly ones left to stitch ! I am hoping to get them all finished this year!
If you would like to see what I am up to everyday join me on Instagram and my Facebook page ! I do post on both almost everyday ..Links to my Facebook page , Instagram and Pinterest are in the sidebar .. Hope to see you there ! :)

I thought of you as soon as I saw this cute series, Priscilla! Your finish is darling and I love the idea of using that chalkboard to change out the months so easily. It looks fabulous :)

Of course I love the latest PS finish, too--great job on only having six left! I think I've only stitched six of those yearly ones--I need to get busy!!

That is a great way to display your chalkboard designs. Good luck with the Santas. I bet you will finish them all.

Isn't it funny! When I first saw these designs, I thought of you right away and wondered if you were going to stitch them. Then I thought...of course you are! And here it is, and it's sensational!!!

I loved this so much that when I read it yesterday I went straight to my favourite needlework store to ask if they had the pattern. They didn't, but I had fun anyone - and all needlewomen will know what that means!
I have decided to just adapt a pattern I already have and try something like what you've shown. Thank you for the inspiration.
