Winter In The Foyer 2015

January is almost over .. I am starting to get a little spring fever.. I just want to garden :)
Our home is still decorated for winter and I want to share our foyer with its winter finery .. I have a little picture frame that I have painted with chalkboard paint that sits on this 2 tier wrought iron stand. Its filled with snowflakes , burlap snowflake ribbon and a magnolia garland.
There is a galvanized bucket with a fabric snowman filled with branches from our real Christmas tree and pine cones..
I still have the flocked garland and burlap bows up on the stairs.
By the front door I have this vintage galvanized watering can filled with real greens and some flocked faux greenery .. A ice skate ornament hangs from the watering can.
I finished stitching this Little House Needleworks Woodland Sampling last night and it fits perfectly in this thrift store frame. Its mounted and just stuck in the frame so if I want to use the frame for another piece I can. The frame is plastic ( you can't tell that ) and I paid $2.04 for it :)

On the green cabinet is this vintage scale ..some frosty little houses and an ornament that I kept out from Christmas .

A painted mason jar sits in a lantern on a white thrifted cake stand.. We have had the darkest gloomiest winter ever ! I wait to take photos when the sun is out but by the time the sun comes out it will be spring !! So sorry about the dark photos !

Thanks so much for your visit !  I Hope you have a wonderful day !

The stitch you just finished is wonderful and I love the frame! I am looking for more snowmen to use next winter. Your home has been an inspiration for me.

Love all the stitching! Hard to believe that most of the country is shoveling out of the snow, and we are warm and sunny for the most part. I am hoping for more winter though. Spring will come soon enough. If I lived where you do, I would probably be wishing for Spring and the gardens too!!!

Priscilla,
Once again my friend, I am in awe of your display ideas and techniques!! Your vignettes are always so interesting and I adore how you use different levels to display things!!
Love the sprinkler and the bucket!!
I decided that at this point, I am now going to decorate for Valentine's and stress myself out. At least in the Living Room.....
So I threw together a Winter Tree in the Living Room. I will be posting it soon....

Hugs,
Deb

What an inspiration your decorating is, Priscilla! I always come away with a new idea of something I want to try to do myself. This time, it's the galvanized bucket of greens and pinecones with the little snowman--so cute and so easy to put together! Your LHN piece is lovely in that thrifted frame. I wish we had a Goodwill closer to us--I'd be there weekly.

Love your beautiful bucket and watering can displays, such imagination.
