Valentine Chalkboard with Crocheted Rose Wreath

 Good Morning !
First things first ...The winner of the Dollar Tree $100.00 gift card is Sandi from The Primitive Skate ! Congratulations Sandi !

I got this frame at the GoodWill store, and I wanted to use it for a chalkboard.
I painted the frame off white , I didn't paint it heavily , I wanted a lot of the dark areas to show through, kind of a white washed look ... I painted the canvas with chalkboard paint..It took 2 coats. Looks better already:)
I cut a heart shape out of light weight poster board.( I folded it in half and cut the heart shape )  Then cut about 3/4 inch inside that ...I made 14 more of the Attic 24 crochet roses ...and hot glued them to the cardboard shape. If you don't crochet you could use silk flowers , or even make a wreath from pom poms !

I used red ticking stripe fabric folded in half and glued to the back of the cardboard to hang the heart from the top of the frame.
I hot glued the top of the ribbon to the top of the frame. Wrote the word Love, added a heart and a little stitching line around the outside of the heart..

I hung it on the stair landing ..gives us a little Valentines day decoration !

I would love for you to follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest ..all the links are in the sidebar !
Have a great day !Thanks so much for stopping by ! I love your visits and nice comments !

Good morning Priscilla! I love the chalkboard message and crochet roses! But.....I don't think I could have painted over that cute canvas? Really love the outcome though!!!
I missed your previous post. Good bargains indeed! That platter is darling, and the armoire...what a steal!!!
I am having withdrawals from "poppin' tags" I haven't been in a week!
