Peter Cottontail Chalkboard

I did a little Easter doodling on the big chalkboard in the kitchen this morning .. This is what I came up with for Easter !
I love this chalkboard so much , being able to change it up for the seasons ..
I got this frame at a garage sale , (very cheap!!)..had a board cut at home depot and painted the board with chalkboard paint.

This is what it looks like outside this morning ..most of the snow was gone and now there is more ..oh well, spring will eventually get here...
At least spring is here inside the house !

Dining Room Vignettes

I changed around some of the spring vignettes in the dining room so I thought I would share that with you today ..
I am still loving this moss bunny from Hobby Lobby , I went back to get another and to try and find one for my sister in law but they were all gone at 3 different stores ! I switched  all the things on the buffet to the hutch .. I wanted the blue elements to be behind the table so when you look in the dining room from the kitchen the blue is showing..
My daughter got me this soup tureen at an estate sale in her neighborhood for $7.50 ! I have been wanting to find one and I couldn't believe the bargain !

On the table is a chicken wire basket filled with green moss, and the resin bunnies ( from Hobby Lobby) a burlap bow and a nest on top of a thrift store  pedestal plate.
I added the Fitz and Floyd spring pig tea pot to the hutch too.. He has spring vegetables all around the bottom ..He is probably 15 or more years old..The white platter was on clearance at TJ Maxx for $10.00 , it was a  gift from my sweet daughter.

This is the buffet now, with all the roosters..
The spring book page wreath can be found here , and the no sew burlap runner here ..

DIY Spring Tulip Wreath

Since yesterday was the first day of spring it was time to put a little spring on the front porch !
My daughter and I made 2 of these tulip wreaths yesterday , mine is the pink..  hers is the peach..
We got these little tulip bunches at Michaels.. they are 50 % off right now so they are $1.99 each.
We used grapevine wreaths and some wire we had in the garage and just wired the bunches on tightly ..It was so easy ( except for when I got the wire all tangled !) They take about 15-20 minutes each. I cut a long strip of the white burlap fabric to use for a bow to hang them. I just looped the burlap around the wreath and tied a bow at the top..

They turned out so pretty !

We still have quite a bit of snow in the front yard , but it is going to be 55 degrees today so maybe it will all be gone ! Have a wonderful weekend!

Patriotic Baby Crochet

Since we are expecting another Grandson at the end of June, its time for me to get busy crocheting some cute things for the new little guy!  I made this patriotic blanket , cocoon and hat ..
I used this pattern for the cocoon, except when it started the fancy stitch I just stuck to plain half double crochet .. I did 5 rows of each color to make the stripes. I made the stars from Attic 24's pattern ..for the blanket star I used a H hook ,for the hat I used a F hook .
I used all Hobby Lobby I love this yarn for the set..I used this pattern for the blanket ..

Spring In The Family Room

 Good Morning !
I have loved creating a few spring vignettes in our family room ! We have this vintage sideboard that my daughter and I chalk painted ( it was our first chalk paint project !) I moved this painting that I bought at a garage sale for $10.00 over the sideboard.. Last week  my youngest son told me this painting has his name on it .. so he looked it up on Ebay and for this size similar painting from this artist they are $650.00 to $750.00 ! The frame was gold and I painted it cream ..It also had one of those gallery lights mounted to it that I took off.
I have this large basket on top with a spring chalkboard, some nests, seed packs in a mason jar, and a silver pedestal bowl and a aqua pedestal bowl , the basket , 2 pedestal bowls and the jar are all from thrift stores or estate sales
Lats week my daughter and I went to an estate sale and the only thing I found was these two little vegetable stitcheries .. They were $ 1.00 each and dated on the back 1974 ! 40 years old ! Aren't they a cute addition to spring decorating ?. A vintage watering can filled with dried hydrangeas is on a pedestal plate.

On the coffee table I have a wood tray filled with a cake plate with tulips and a birds nest , a aqua pitcher, some dried hydrangeas in a vintage tool box and a vintage mason jar..

On the side table I have my March cross stitching

I filled this little wood tray with a basket with a nest , bunny and eggs..a little burlap piece we made with a nest cut in half and glued on with a little spring banner and a ceramic bird..the thrifted frame has a bunny on it for the spring..and some dried hydrangeas in a thrifted bowl.
