Spring in the Foyer

Good morning ! We were supposed to get alot of snow here in the Chicago area this morning but we only got a dusting ..hooray ! I am ready for spring and gardening !
On top of the chest in the foyer, I have a silver tray with an apothecary jar, inside is a nest filled with eggs and a little bird.. dried hydrangeas and a silver bowl with a bird nesting inside.. I love the Rooster canister, I got it at Homegoods..a little wood chalkboard and a Fitz and Floyd duck pitcher.
I left the coffee filter wreath up over the mirror , its hung on burlap. The wrought iron tiered basket came from an estate sale ,I filled it with tulips and added a burlap bow and chalkboard..The below photo is the same view last year , we widened the doorway ,removed the popcorn ceilings, took down the wall in the foyer , added can lights, painted and new trim..

This is the wall that was removed between the living room and foyer, now you can actually see into the family room from the living room :)
We are hoping to get the carpet removed from the stairs this year and a new railing .We had quite the mess going on last year ^^ so glad it is all finished !
Thanks so much for stopping by !I would love for you to follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest ..all the links are in the sidebar !

So pretty Priscilla!
I just read your comment on my post. YES, I am sore! Oh my gosh, why, oh why do I do this? I have some pretty nasty arthritis these days, and when I do this, my hands just ache something awful. I feel like they are all clubby and gross. I hate getting old! My mind doesn't feel old, just my body! Bleh!!!
I will be resting today, even though I need to mop floors in the worst way!!!!
Have a good day, and stay inside, where it is Spring in the house, at least!

So glad the snow wasn't as bad as predicted, Priscilla. They are saying 2-3" here tonight. Maybe it will pass us by altogether :)

Love your spring decorations--I just saw an Easter egg wreath made out of book pages and thought of you :)

Your make over is stunning and I like it very much. Everything goes so well together - great job!!
Well maybe your winter is over. My Spring flowers are blooming like crazy - we had no winter.
Have a great weekend.

The foyer looks so Springy!! Your remodel really turned out wonderful. I would love to get the carpet off my stairs. If I had my way, the entire house would have hard woods!

Priscilla, a touch of Spring just brightens the day. It looks so pretty and I think it will help to chase the snow away! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Those diy projects can be killer. I'm living in a mess right now. Austin is on the couch and stuff is everywhere. This too shall pass...

It;s looking lovely and that wreath is so fluffy!! I love it!!

Beautiful job on the renovations! Your foyer looks fantastic and my favorite touch is the tulips with the chalkboard sign - adorable!

It looks lovely! I am in Western PA so I usually get what you get and was happy for just a dusting too. I haven't done any spring decorating yet because it still has seemed so winter-like but soon! :)

Your foyer table looks very nice, Priscilla. Good luck on your next DIY -- they just never seem to end, do they?

Wow, the foyer looks great. Living in a DIY zone stinks, literally so I take my hat off to you! When we re-did our kitchen the floors and cabinets took 3 weeks...I thought I'd lose my mind, because of the dust. LOL
