Christmas In July

Happy Friday !
I finished my first ornament for 2015..I have stitched a lot but this is the first that is ready to hang on a tree! This is from the August issue of Just Cross Stitch and is from Hands On Design..
You know me and anything chalkboard! :) I mounted it on sticky needlework board , then mounted some black gingham ( on the bias ) love the way it looks that way .. on a separate sticky board ..glued the two together with a red check ribbon loop for hanging in between the pieces. Added a red check bow , and covered a button with black gingham and glued that on top of the bow. Do you love it ?!?
Here is my progress on Santa's Flight stocking.. it is getting there ..at this point I just want to get it done! There is still a long way to go !
If you read my blog regularly you know I love Christmas ...so I thought I would add a few of my favorite house pics from last Christmas ..
The dining room..

 The kitchen ..

the family room ..with hopefully a new stocking to replace the one second from the right this year :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Oh, that ornament finish is darling, Priscilla--just love the little gingham button--will have to remember that one :)

Nice progress on the stocking--I don't think I would have the patience to stitch such a solid design...

Congratulations on your first finished ornament for 2015. I really like how you finished this one with the gingham on the bias, the red gingham loop and bow and the covered button! Enjoy your weekend!

I love your new ornament! I am thinking Christmas in July too, buying vintage Christmas stuff whenever I see it. I cannot resist a handmade stocking though....yours is coming along beautifully! So much work!

Okay, now you know that i would just adore this post!!! I just bought tomato cages on sale in Big Lot's for making evergreen topiaries for Christmas for my large urns in the front of the house.....I am already starting to think about Christmas......
I go part time in a week and have gotten rid of all my volunteer obligations so i will be free to decorate to my heart's content this Christmas!!
Hugs,
