Red ,White And Blue Jars

 Good Monday morning ! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend with your families celebrating Fathers Day ! I saw jars like these on Pinterest .. I knew my daughter and I NEEDED them :)

 So we painted them ..we used painters tape for the stripes and it was a little (ALOT) tricky getting the stripes straight :)

 I just used a small brush and free handed the stars , didn't feel like going to the store or spending any money ..

 I think they are adorable and make such a cute addition to our table !

 I wanted a banner for my little garden planter bike.. I have lots of felt so I used that , not sure how long it will last but so far so good and we have had a few rainy nights , I cut little flower shapes out of red , white and blue felt. I was going to hot glue them but instead I stapled them .and also stapled the pennant shapes to some ribbon. I made the pennants 2 layers thick by hot gluing them together so they were stiffer.

I added some red gingham fabric , and some of the blue dot fabric .. I think it looks really cute !

Redoing the Red White and Blue..

 One of my favorite projects is this patriotic   Decomesh wreath I made it 3 years ago and

 the red decomesh was really faded this year when I put it up.. So I took it down and took out all the red , and put new red pieces in so it looks alot better.

 Here it is after taking out the red pieces.

 I use floral pins and also hot glue over the pins to hold the decomesh in. I use pieces of decomesh that are about 18 inches long . Scrunch them up , pin them and hot glue.

 I ended up replacing the blue too, it was a little faded but mostly needed puffing up. I think I am going to have to redo the white too so that it is equally as puffy as the rest of the wreath.

 Last year I made this flag pillow to put on the chair that sits on our front porch. It too was a little faded , so since I had hot glued all the ruffles on , I ripped those off as well..

 I used red gingham ( love the red gingham :), muslin  and blue dot fabric.. I use hot glue and pinch the ruffles in place..

 I ended up pulling up the blue on the top and making the ruffle go all the way across .

Love my wicker chair  that we got last week ! I think the flag pillow looks so cute on it !

Chalk Painting

 Hope you all had a great weekend !
I bought this cabinet last year at an estate sale for $25.00 .. It went into our living room, then at Christmas it went up to my bedroom where it sat until we painted it..
We left the top as is , its in good condition, and painted the bottom this pretty aqua blue..

 We used some darker paint in all the details so they would show.. I got new knobs for it at Hobby LObby .. they look like they were made for it.. The big problem is that we never opened the drawer.. and can't get it open to put the new knobs in ! I think I am just going to glue them on !!

 We used this chalk paint recipe. One coat of paint was all it took. I used a paint and primer from Menards.

 Have you ever made homemade ravioli ? It is so good.. I have an attatchment for my kitchenaid mixer that rolls the dough, so we don't have to use the crank roller anymore.. I made alot and froze them on cookie sheets and put them in zip loc bags, then back in the freezer.. I make a mixture of ground beef, Italian sausage and romano cheese.. They are amazing . My kids just slurp them up :)

Rummage Sale Treasures

On Thursday my daughter and I went to a local church rummage sale.. They had tons of furniture ! I have been wanting a white wicker chair for my front porch and I got one ! It was $10.00 and I had my youngest son give it a little coat of paint..I would like a bigger more elaborate chair , but this one looks alot better than the plastic adorondack chair that was there !

 My daughter put in an offer on a house last week , it was accepted and now we are waiting for the home inspection / appraisal to go through. She lives in an apartment right now , and she wanted a few pieces to paint for her new place.. She got the pedestal table for $40.00 ! We painted it white yesterday with a homemade chalk paint recipe that I found here .. It works fabulously ! We used Behr paint from home depot, paint and primer in one.This is like the table I bought on Craigs list for $200.00 , It has a leaf , and seats at least 6.. Now we have to find chairs ! There is another church rummage sale next week so I guess we will be shopping :)

 She got this little end table for $5.00 , it looks white in the photo , but its actually painted yellow with the same chalk paint recipe. Then she used glaze on it to get in all the recessed areas.. Really cute ! WE painted the hardware with the chalk paint too.

 She also got this armoire and dresser .. They have so much detail on them and are going to look great painted. Both pieces she got for $60.00! She is going to use the dresser for her tv , like all the ones that we see on pinterest :)

 We got the frame last week at a garage sale and we are going to put a chalkboard in it ..

She got a fabulous deal on all the furniture ! You can see the table is yellow in this bottom photo.. $110.00 for a kitchen table and leaf, end table, dresser and armoire !

Patriotic Subway Art Table Runner

Good Monday morning :) It was time for a new table runner to be made .. I went with a patriotic theme ,so I can use it from now until Labor Day , unless I decide to make a flowery summery one :)

I used my foam stamps and acrylic paint ,on osnaburg fabric. I used red gingham and navy polka dot fabric to make the ruffles..

I had to use some of the pompom fringe with the ruffles too ! I think this is my favorite so far out of the five I have made :)

I used red, white and blue paint , with a little light blue thrown in there.. I love how it looks with the light blue .

I actually made 2 of these , one is a gift for someone special :)

My duaghter and I were in Target last week and got these anniversary blue Ball Mason jars.,We split one package , then went back on Saturday and each got our own package of 6 .. Just love the blue color :)

I posted this photo of our front porch on Instagram last week , and to my surprise Home Depot commented on it and asked to share it ! How exciting !
My little Jack Russell is in the doorway supervising ! I had just moved some of the plants around in the front garden and planted a new hydrangea my daughter had bought me for Mothers Day.
