Tree # 13 ,a new giant granny blanket, and Lizzie Kate

I saw this adorable snowman Christmas tree on Pinterest and knew I had to try to make him. I had a 4 ft tree leftover from one of my boys rooms so thats what I used.
I fluffed up the bottom layer  of branches ,then the next row I   bunched up and  stuffed with fiberfill then wrapped with muslin ( to make the first ball).I used my stapler in the back to connect the muslin..Worked great but it has to be against the wall !  You do that 3 times and you have a snowman ! After the bottom ball is finished, drop down the next row of branches, then bunch up a row of branches for the second ball. Make the same way as the bottom ball. drop down another row of branches , then bend the rest of the tree to make the head.
I made the hat out of doubled felt.Hot glued ( no sewing )2 kinds of ribbon for the bow and some real evergreen branches for trim. buttons for eyes and mouth .I did sew the nose out of felt. I used one strand of colored lights, then went to the Dollar Tree  store and bought 2 pkg of snowflake ornaments, and 3 pointsettia picks..I just layed the flowers and snowflakes in the branches.  So cute !

For my 4 ft, tree, the bottom row is tree, then a ball, more tree, another ball, more tree, ball then hat. I left the top part of the tree sticking up to hold the hat . I cut 2 circles the same size and glued them together for the brim. I took 2 rectangles , sorry didn't measure, glued together to make it stiffer for the top part of hat .Then I glued on a circle to cover the top of hat. Took hot glue along the edge of brim and top of hat and sprinkled with white snow like glitter. I also cut two small branches from a tree for the arms.

New giant granny started 2 days ago for the sons girlfriend for Christmas..Love the colors!

I am also still cross stitching a stocking and started this Lizzie Kate abc Christmas..I know both the cross stitch projects won't be done before Christmas .

One last glamour shot of the new tree !

The front porch

I made this decomesh wreath for the front door..red and white plaid , and also plain red decomesh..green polka dot ribbon and some sparkly red picks from hobby lobby..I used an old evergreen wreath to wire the decomesh on.

Got this sled at a church rummage sale ..took the laces out of the skates and added some Christmas tree branches..this leans up against the wall of the porch.

Red and green decomesh some big ornaments and of course white lights ..on a base of evergreen garland..My big santa was a gift..love him..he is a vintage plastic yard decoration.I also have some pots with greenery and a white grapevine snowman.

Door at night..

Thanks for coming by !!

Upstairs trees 2011

Usually all 4 bedrooms get their own tree..My 17 & 18 year olds have been slack on cleaning their rooms so I just put one tree in the hall for the two of them..Sports ornaments, red, white and blue lights, and some of their sports awards from school..Football shoes and a football are at the base of the tree..pictures don't do it justice..Looks really cute in person

master bedroom tree..I got a new comforter set in black damask ,so my red, white and blue themed teddy bear tree was not going to look good in here ! I made the tree skirt ( no sew) 30 minutes ! with 3 different black and white patterns..so cute..then just used green decomesh ands white snowflakes and black glittery balls..really pretty and simple ! When things go on sale I will get some more black and white ornaments for next year..

My 13 year olds tree.Lots of sports ornaments,,, Every sport they do I take a glass ornament and put their player # what sport etc. with puffy paint..makes a great remembrance !

Big boys tree lit up

Well thats all my trees , 12 of them...thanks for looking !!!

Christmas Dining room 2011

The dining room holds my husbands project each year...the village..The dining room table is under the village and he has cut risers out of wallboard..Its just beautiful..these are houses from Joann fabrics and Kohls..not the expensive Dept. 56 houses, but they still look amazing ! Theres an ice rink ( that is from dept. 56 that skaters actually skate on) and a merry go round  that works.

Most of my Fitz and Floyd collection stays in the dining room year round.. Christmas never goes away around here!

Thanks again for looking !

Christmas foyer 2011

One of my older fitz and floyd pieces..

The view from the kitchen to the front door..

Looking in from the front door, Iused evergreen and decomesh ,snowflakes and white lights to do the railing. Its really pretty , but hard to get a good picture ! Theres two flocked garlands that surround the mirror and the first decomesh wreath I made hanging from fishing wire..

tree on landing , no electricity here, so no lights, just little felt ornaments and berry garland..topped with an angel I made about 20 years ago..
