A Stitchy Spring Wreath

 Happy Monday !
I finished stitching this Prairie Schooler spring from Prairie Seasons last week .I have to admit to you I did not like this piece while I was stitching it until I got to the 2 robins on top ... Don't know why I didn't like it I just didn't!
Today I went to Hobby Lobby to find a way to display it.
I wasn't loving it in any of the frames ..then I thought since I plan to stitch the other 3 seasons..maybe a wreath .. so I went to the wreath section and this grapevine wreath seemed the perfect size!
Right now I have it hanging on the kitchen hutch ..not sure if it will stay here or maybe get moved to a door.( inside door)
I mounted the stitching on needlework sticky board ..then used another piece of the sticky board for some green gingham fabric. I glued the stitching to the green check with hot glue. I then glued a strip of burlap to the back of the green check board and used that burlap to tie it to the wreath. I also wove a couple strands of blossoms to the outside . When I am ready for the summer piece I just have to untie the burlap and take off the strands of blossoms ..I love the way this way of displaying it and can't wait for the summer version ! Well.. what do you think ?
If you would like to see what I am up to everyday join me on Instagram and my Facebook page ! I do post on both almost everyday ..Links to my Facebook page , Instagram and Pinterest are in the sidebar .. Hope to see you there ! :)
Thanks so much for all your visits and sweet comments !

Hi Priscilla! Oh, your little stitchery looks so pretty in the wreath. That was a great way to display it! Thanks for popping in to see me and Happy Easter.
Be a sweetie,

I love the two robins on top too! I am a bird nerd, and always love my feathered friends.
So, your cutie pie Bretton is 3! Super cute cookies for his party! And the salad looked and sounded yummy!
Spring is right around the corner! Hang in there!

Isn't it funny how we so look forward to stitching certain motifs on our pieces, Priscilla. I've done this one, too, and remember how the robins were my favorite part, too. It looks so cute in your wreath--another creative finish!

That is a wonderful idea!! I just love it. I am sure I will try it as I have things I just don't want to frame. Thanks for the great idea.

This time of year we want to stitch birds and flowers... it's the 'I'm sick of cold weather' mentality!! Very nicely done!

Hi Priscilla,
This is my first time to visit you,
came over from Cindy's. Very well done cross stitch, and that was a great way to display it, just gives it a more
3 dimensional look I think.
Very pretty, and looks nice where you
have it displayed on your china hutch
as well.
Blessings, Nellie

What a great idea to add it to a wreath, it looks amazing. I haven't cross stitched in ages and this makes me want to start again. My mom taught me how when I was little and I always enjoyed it so much.
