Chelsea's Coral Vanity

Good Morning ! Hope you all had a great long weekend !  Out in blogland , I saw this coral painted vanity ..So when my daughter bought her house I said remember that coral vanity :) It took an afternoon and as you can see by the before and after it looks fabulous !

We used the homemade chalk paint recipe of 3 parts paint to one part plaster of paris and water. This did take 3 coats. We had already painted the walls in the bathroom a pale grey color , and she has a pale grey ruffled shower curtain.. She used the original hardware that she spray painted with the hammered finish . Today we are supposed to get started painting the kitchen cabinets . We are also going to make a roman shade for her dining area ... I found directions on Pinterest and can't wait to see if it works !

This Friday we got a huge storm that knocked our power out for 22 hours ! There was so much tree debris in the yards , lots of trees and branches down ..we weren't supposed to get power back until Sunday night , but luckily we got it back on Saturday.  We ended up renting a generator to keep our refridge and freezer working ,and just in case it rained again that it could run the sump pump. Totally not fun ! I  could not have lasted in pioneer times :)

I have made some progress on the big flower blanket .. I love it .. Even though its only 3 colors I am not bored with it yet ! I have 6 rows completed ..

I finished this Lizzie Kate ornament Sunday , for #santasundayxs on Instagram

and also finished this October wordplay .. I also started September .. I need to get some finishing done on all the cross stitch pieces I have completed .

My zinnias are growing fabulously .. I was so glad the winds did not wreck any of my gardens.. These zinnias are at least 4 feet tall .. some are close to 5 feet..

It is quite enjoyable to be able to pick them for vases ! I am sure going to miss them when the growing season is over !

Have a wonderful day ! Hopefully I will be back soon with some kitchen cabinet makeover pics :)
