The Scrapbook Tree and The Snowman Tree 2014

In our family room we have 4 trees.. On the far fireplace wall are these 2 trees.. The one on the left ifs full of family photos ..the tree on the right is decorated with only snowman ornaments..If you would like to see more about this years mantel click here.here.

All these ornaments have either been made by my kids when they were young or I made them using scrpabook supplies and ribbon..
The tree is trimmed with berry garlands and 3 different kinds of ribbon.. I tried to go with just the ornaments this year but didn't like the way it looked so I took it all down and started over again adding the ribbons and berries. Both of these trees have no sew ruffled tree skirts that are so easy to make !
I made the tree topper by pleating scrapbook cardstock and glitter letters.. I used a paper towel roll inside to stick the top of the tree into to hold it up. This tree rotates so it is full of photo ornaments front and back..
I got this Santa at a flea market this summer ..He is hand painted on wood. They were asking $10.00 and I got him for $8.00 ..Isn't he just the cutest ?
I used a head from a light up snowman that had broken for my snowman tree tree topper. I crocheted a long skinny scarf from cream yarn to wrap around his neck and drape throught the tree..
Lots of the ornaments are handmade ..

These are the cross stitched ornaments on the snowman tree..

We got our real tree on Sunday and it is a BIG one ! So fat ! It is all decorated now.. We had to go buy a few more boxes of lights to finish it :)
WE got our first real snowfall yesterday .. I put a fake tree that we were going to throw away ( parts are broken) and put it in the thrifted vintage wheelbarrow with some of the branches from the real tree. I still want to add some red bows and white lights to it ..

More Jack Russell photobombers.. This time both Ronnie and Reagan :)
If you would like to see what I am up to everyday join me on Instagram and my Facebook page ! I do post on both almost everyday ..Links to my Facebook page , Instagram and Pinterest are in the sidebar .. Hope to see you there ! :)

It's a Christmas wonderland at your house, Priscilla!! I love the idea of a family photo tree--what a great way to display all those handmade ornament the kids brought home through the years... And your snowman tree is darling--especially the handmade ornaments.

Have fun with the rest of your decorating!
