Farmhouse Christmas Tree

 Good morning!
Christmas decorating is going slowly but surely!
Yesterday I did the final finishing on my Little House Needleworks Farmhouse Christmas ornaments..Before I left on our trip ( 2 weeks ago) I had the tree all set up and just needed to finish and add the stitched ornaments!
I used these buffalo check picks from Hobby Lobby and added red buffalo check torn ruffled flannel to the edges.. The stitching is mounted on sticky board ..

The chicken on top of the tree was a mothers day gift from Chelsea.. and it was so perfect that the inside was hollow.. so I just slipped it on the tree..

The wood Farmhouse Christmas sign was also from Hobby Lobby last year ..

There are red metal barn stars.. enamel farm animal ornaments .. Lanterns ..
There are 3 rag garlands of red buffalo check and burlap ..

Black buffalo check ribbons and of course cotton branches.. Calvin had to get in the picture..:)

I just love how it turned out .. the stitched ornaments are so perfect!

***Please remember if you copy my finishing ideas that you be considerate and give a link to my blog or facebook page..****

The tree sits next to the hutch in the family room .. I found 2 of these trees on clearance at Walmart last year ..I think around 6.00 each .. They are a little sparse but that is perfect for a farmhouse style tree..I used more of the buffalo check flannel for a tree skirt .. and on top of that ... a big chicken, and a buffalo check bucket  and also an egg bucket with a chicken on top are all under the tree ..

I have 4 trees left to decorate plus all the other vignettes chalkboards etc.. so I am off to work .. not to mention the new chalk on the farm that I am stitching!
Thanks so much for your visit!

This tree is so full of cuteness! I keep having to pinch the pic on my phone to make it larger so I can study all the little details. Love the idea of the rag garland and the cotton sprigs. I wanted to flock our "Jenny Craig" Christmas tree, but I didn't realize how pricey the flocking powder was. A few sprigs of cotton might be the perfect substitute for this year.... Thank you so much for sharing another beautiful tree full of wonderful ideas!

Your decorating is lovely! We lived in a huge farmhouse-and have now downsized to a manufactured home. But I am getting lots of ideas from your lovely home. At the farmhouse we had at least one 6-7ft tree in every room except for the bathrooms. I miss having all that space. One question, where do you store your holiday decorations in the off season? I appreciate you sharing your life's journey with u!

Beautiful. You always amaze me with your creativity ,always new and different ways . Love it. your home looks beautiful,at this time of year the more trees the better I say .I live in a 170 year old farm house , just wish I had thought of more than 1 tree, this year for sure .Had my husband laugh when I said where I wanted trees this year. Thank you for sharing such beautiful and personal ideals of your home.

This is so wonderful - I adore it. I need to go back and re-read what fabric you chose. I'm looking for a grey - yours seems to be also. Love your great work and finishes. So inspiring.
