Seasons In Chalk Christmas-ho ho ho!

Good afternoon!

The last installment of the Seasons In Chalk ( a collaboration with Hands On Design and me ) is out in the newest Just Cross Stitch Magazine.. ( online..not on the newsstand yet) and here it is! 

Can I just tell you how much I love this one .. ok ..I love them all :)

Cathy's stitched piece on the left the chalkboard on the right..All of the designs were charted so amazingly to look exactly like the chalkboard versions..So much fun to see my doodled chalkboards come to life in cross stitch!  

I stitched all of mine on 28 count black Monaco .. and used magnets on the chalkboard painted frame and small pieces of sheet metal on the back of the stitching to change them out ..The frame is an estate sale find , and it is a vintage paint by number frame.

I would like to thank all of you for your enthusiasm for all the designs as they came out ..It has been so wonderful seeing them posted on different cross stitch boards on Facebook and photos on Instagram ! I appreciate you all!

This has been so much fun , I so appreciate Cathy asking me to be a part of this..I hate to see the series end...

I hope you enjoy stitching this one to display in your home for Christmas!

Halloween Rules!

 Happy Monday!
Woo HOO ..It's finished!
Lizzie Kate Halloween Rules ..

So.. I had decided how I was going to do this ..I just ad to get the board cut and chalkboard painted ..I had a little help from one of my sons today ..and got this finished ,I still haven't decided where it is going to be displayed..  but don't you love it?

I had 2 light weight pieces of board cut at Home Depot to mount both the stitching and the other piece was used for the black homespun check ( on the bias) to use as a mat for the stitching. I glued the two pieces together and also glued it to the board.
 I knew I wanted it to be just black and white ..no colored chalk .. and a simple pumpkin leaf garland all the way around.
Oh my gosh I am so excited it turned out just the way I wanted it! I need to do some Halloween rearranging and find it the perfect spot!

Halloween Mantel 2016

 Good morning!
The mantel is all decorated for Halloween!

 I redrew the design that I drew for Seasons in Chalk ..added a couple more Halloweenish words.. and a garland of leaves and flowers around the Jack O lantern.. How cute does that Jack o Lantern look?

 I cut a couple branches from our tree ..and  added some of the crows from Dollar Tree .Sweater pumpkins also hold a crow on each side of the chalkboard..

 I found this pom pom garland at Target dollar spot ( $3.00)

 I wasn't going to use the Halloween bookpage banner I made a couple years ago but it just looked too perfect to not use it! For the garland ..there is 2 pieces of the creepy cheescloth ( dollar tree) 2 fall leaf garlands .. white lights.. the pom pom garland .. and the book page Halloween banner..

Halloween Galvanized Tiered Tray

 Good morning!
Today it is all about the Halloween version of the galvanized tiered tray.. Love this time of year !

  The tray sits on the counter in my kitchen and is filled with all things Halloween!

 Little jack o lantern buckets filled with black tulle ,,an owl salt and pepper shaker from Walmart..

Two old crows sit on top of painted mason jars filled with berries and purple sparkly flowers.. black tulle and a cute owl mug from BHG at Walmart ..

A little chalkboard sits front and center .. little jack o lantern buckets hang off the berry garlands.. sweater pumpkins and fall florals are also on display.

Trick or Treat Front Porch

Good morning!

Our porch is all ready for trick or treaters!

 I bought letters at Hobby Lobby and spray painted them black .. I glued them onto old boards I had in the garage .. I sprayed the boards and letters with a sealer. Our porch does have a roof so they should be fine..
 I used my garland made with a black garland base.. It has black and orange decomesh, black and purple tulle, little chalkboard signs, diy ghosts, and purple and white lights.

 I also bought the OR letters at Hobby Lobby and outlined them with a white paint marker. I used thin wire to attach them and used black gingham ribbon to hang them up.

 The newly redone Halloween Countdown. Don't you love that chair ? I found that and the galvanized bucket on top of it at a flea market a couple weeks ago.

DIY Halloween Countdown redo

 Happy Tuesday!
I wanted to change up this DIY Halloween Countdown I made several years ago ... so..I decided to paint it with chalkboard paint and draw it with chalk ...

Above is how it looked when I first made it ..But ..you know me and my love of chalkboards.. so I drew it all in chalk and sprayed it with a sealer.   Hoping it will stay ..if not I will have to trace over it with chalk markers. But I absolutely love it ! I will be back to show you the rest of the porch soon!

Fall on the Front Porch

 Good morning!
Come on in! It is actually a little chilly here today!

 This is Fall on my front porch .. a couple years ago I made this sunflower wreath and still love it so up it went again for August and September..

Do you that photo bomber peeking out the door ? :)

 I also made this DIY Welcome sign a couple years ago and still love that ! Our front porch isn't very big but I love to make it a welcoming entrance to our home ..

Last week my daughter and I went to a flea market and I got that awesome old chair and the galvanized bucket on top of it ..

 Isn't that chair just the best ? I think it will go in my foyer as soon as I put out the Halloween front porch..

 Cornstalks, pumpkins,  gourds,hydrangeas, scarecrows, galvanized buckets and watering can .. vintage bushel baskets filled with mums..Don't you love those peachy pink pumpkins?
