Pumpkin Picking 2019

Good morning! 

Saturday was like the Christmas Day of the Fall season because it was pumpkin picking day! Could that Rae Dunn cup be any cuter ?!?

We pick at a farm that you pay by the car load .. they have lots of fancy pumpkins plus the normal jack o lantern orange pumpkins ! Blue pumpkins and white pumpkins are my favorites!

Cash was a big help :)

I ended up with 101 pumpkins this year .. there were no really huge ones because of our weather this year ..

so then at home .. they get lined up  all around the front flower bed ..

we found lots of the crook neck gourds this year ..

We were lucky we even got to go because it has been so rainy ..and this year was the hardest we have ever encountered with mud! We were covered in it .. it was like quicksand in the fields

Some of the blue pumpkins are almost an aqua color ..

Halloween Hoopla!

Good morning!
Here is a little Halloween Hoopla to start your Friday off!
This Is from With Thy Needle and Thread .. Halloween Hoopla

Calvin is a little upset there is no cat with the witch :) I stitched it on 28 count evenweave that was dyed with grey Rit dye then coffee tea dyed ... I used Classic Colorworks floss in the colors .. Eggshell, Black Coffee , Colonial Copper , Honeycomb , Pea Pod , Perfect Pie crust , and Plum Paisley , I made the broom per instructions on the chart but didn't use a ruler to wrap the floss .. I just wrapped it around a couple fingers ..

I have finished the other Hoopla's Square but I wanted this one round as an ornament for my Halloween tree. ..so I mounted the stitching on sticky board with 2 layers of batting underneath . I mounted homespun black checks on a bigger round piece of sticky board . Then I added a very thick ruffle of Halloween homespun all around the ornament .. I used Halloween Striped ribbon for the hanger and orange and black polka dots for the bow . and to make Calvin happy a little black cat with candy corn picks for the topper .. A big orange Jack o Lantern jingle bell hangs from the bottom

Fall on the Mantle

Happy Sunday! 

The mantel is all decorated for Fall! 

Calvin is mad because it's not Halloween yet .. but you can't please that cat all the time ..

I used 4 garlands .. bookpage leaves.. buffalo check rag garland .. wooden pumpkin garland and fall leaf garland

The chalkboard in a thrifted frame is a vintage truck in the Indian corn patch .. with chickens and pumpkins!

sweater pumpkins and a couple of chickens are also present ..

A piece of vintage fence from the flea market holds another chalkboard and the rag flowers from our friend Rich . The pillow is from Amazon and is in our Amazon shop 

The galvanized house lanterns are from Walmart ..

and this is what Calvin thinks about it not being Halloween! :)

October mini!

Happy Friday!
I stitched this Heart In Hand October Merry Making Mini up a couple nights ago and finished it as an ornament for my Halloween tree!

I stitched it on 28 count coffee tea dyed evenweave .. I used Classic Colorworks floss .. black Coffee, Colonial Copper and Plum Paisley ..I did not use the beads included with the chart .. instead I did Plum Paisley stitches where the beads were supposed to go . To finish it I mounted it on sticky board with 2 layers of batting .. then mounted 2 different fabrics on larger sticky boards .. all three layers were then glued together . I used 2 different ribbons for the bow .. and added a cute Jack O Lantern to the top ..

Ultimate Beginner Quilt week 8

Good morning!
This is week 8 in the Ultimate Beginner Quilt sew a long with The Fat Quarter Shop! This is my favorite block we have sewn .. and I would love to make a whole quilt of them! This is the Sawtooth Star block .. and it was not hard at all ! This is a free blog / video class taught by Kimberly at the Fat Quarter Shop
The stitching is from Just Cross Stitch magazine 2016 Fall Seasons in Chalk

Hello Fall!

Good morning.. and Hello Fall! 

What's better than a sign toting scarecrow to welcome in the Fall season!

Calvin wanted to make sure that you see he has a staring role on the chalkboard .. :)

This chalkboard hangs on the wall in my kitchen and gets changed out for all the seasons and holidays .. The frame I found thrifting and I love to draw new designs to decorate my house! 

Ronnie is always ready to pose.

Don't you just love the colors of Fall?!? The house is all decorated for Fall and  The Fall home tour should be coming tomorrow!
