Happy Friday!
Who says you can't put a chicken in a butter dish ? :)
I stitched this Kathy Barrick ornament from the Just Cross Stitch ornament issue from 2001.. I used black 28 count evenweave and the called for DMC..
It has been sitting downstairs on my craft table since about January! I found this silver butter dish at the last flea market we went to.. and I started thinking it would be perfect in there! And so cute on the tree! I stacked little pieces of foam board and glued them in the bottom so this would sit on top.. I cut an oval of sticky board and added a layer of batting.. I tied dark red homespun on the ends and gathered black homespun check for a ruffle around the whole piece..
I added a little greenery ( a tiny wreath that I cut in half with wire cutters) a bow of twine and a rusty bell .. I used the dark red homespun for the hanger..

You are brilliant! How many people would look at a butter dish and think to finish it this way?!?! Blows me away! This turned out super cute!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! I now cannot go shopping anywhere without thinking, 'What can I do with this or that?' in regards to finishing stitches! You have inspired LOTS of us! Thank you for that! Hugs!
