C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S

 Good Morning!
It's all finished ! WOOHOO!
This was one of those projects that took a turn and turned out differently than what I had planned ..
***Please remember if you copy my finishing ideas that you be considerate and give a link to my blog or facebook page..****
I found the house garlands at Target Dollar Spot and used 1 plus more of second garland ..I just moved them closer together on the Baker's Twine and added some from the second string of houses . When I went to hang the garland up it kind of got lost ...so on to plan B ..I lined them all up on the counter and knew I wanted to mount them to something ..

In the Fall I had gone to Joanne Fabrics and the sale they had was you could pick out anything from their "free:" table ..so I got this wood piece that has a galvanized middle FREE..
and believe it or not it was the perfect size ! So I painted the wood with Lori Holt's Chalk paint from Fat Quarter Shop .. Watering Can is the color . I them painted the galvanized back with chalkboard paint .. but I wasn't crazy about the way it looked .. so sticky board covered in black gingham and I love it !
These are 1-3/4 inch each finished .. The smallest pieces I have ever finished and I burnt my fingers a lot :) They are mounted on sticky board with batting underneath and then mounted on red gingham covered sticky board ..I stitched them on 28 count tea/ coffee dyed fabric with Classic Colorworks from our Be Merry Floss pack with the addition of Cocoa Bean
I mounted each letter onto a house and added a little bottle brush wreath to the top of the roof on each house . I glued the black gingham covered sticky board into the frame and glued each house on top ..I painted wood snowflakes white and glued those down and also added a piece of red / white bakers twine tied in a bow to each house ..
I hung it over the door to our half bath and think its perfect for this spot!
You can see more about the wreath here

  12. Phew, That is alot of work to finish this one!! :-) But it is so creative and looks so good! You always come up with great finishing ideas!! I got lucky and found that chart in a stitching store in Reno, Nv a few weeks ago, and it was even on the heavier cardstock! I'll be starting my set soon! Have a great weekend! Hugs, H
