A Tray of Chocolate Bunnies

Happy Wednesday!
I stitched up this Hands On Design Chart ..More Chocolate Bunnies took a couple of evenings to stitch and finished it up this morning ..

***Please remember if you copy my finishing ideas that you be considerate and give a link to my blog or facebook page..****

I only stitched the bunnies and the carrots and left off the words.. I used Classic Colorworks floss in Trail Dust Pumpkin Harvest , Bean Sprout , Natures Trail and a scrap of light pink floss for the noses ..

I used a little vintage  silver tray .. It might be a butter dish by its shape ..I mounted the stitching with 2 layers of batting on sticky board .. then added some torn orange gingham for a ruffle and 2 green gingham bows .. it is stitched on 28 count tea/ coffee dyed evenweave ..
I have it in the top of my oval tiered tray ..  and it is super cute!
Thanks so much for your visit!

Trivet times 2

Good morning!
Remember just a couple days ago I showed you a trivet with this same stitched piece attached that Chelsea had stitched ?  It was so cute I had to stitch it myself! You can read more about that here
and another trivet finish of Chelsea's ..
Here they both are .. mine is stitched on the grey coffee tea dye and Chelsea's on the tea /dye .. My trivet is square and hers is round and a lot bigger ..

***Please remember if you copy my finishing ideas that you be considerate and give a link to my blog or facebook page..****

I got my chart in the mail at about 3 in the afternoon and by 10 I had it stitched and finished ... they are small and quick!
The floss colors I used ..all Classic Colorworks .. Eggshell, Bean Sprout, Ladybug , Rain Shower, Stepping Stones ,Pumpkin Harvest, Queen Bee, Persimmon, Sticks and Twigs
I finished mine just like I finished Chelsea's with sticky board and 2 layers of batting .. Also Ladydot creates ric rac in Motherlode .. and a torn homespun ruffle ..
Since mine was smaller I used a smaller ribbon for top .. and just tied it in the back for easy changing for the seasons .. Thanks so much for stopping by!

The Big Bunny

Good morning!
Can you stand the cuteness of that big bunny!
This is With Thy Needle and Thread Spring Fling ..

***Please remember if you copy my finishing ideas that you be considerate and give a link to my blog or facebook page..****
I changed some of the colors .. I used all Classic Colorworks .. The bunny is done in Stepping Stones ..Flowers are Persimmon ..Ladybug ..and Queen bee .. Bean sprout outline of leaves and stems .. Natures Trail inside of leaves cheeks and small scattered flowers Blushing Beauty .
We dyed this 28 count evenweave Aqua and then dunked it into tea for a little aging .. I was going to stitch the bunny in Eggshell but it didn't pop enough for me so I went with the brownish grey ..Stepping Stones ..If you are going to stitch a big bunny it needs to show up! :)
I have had the tray I used for display for a few years .. it has a chicken in the center and it used to be displayed in my kitchen .. I used magnets to attach it to the metal tray ( so I can still use the tray ) and added 2 torn homespun ruffles and a flower ribbon trim .. It is so sweet I just love it!

A Springy Trivet

Happy Thursday!
This is Heart In Hand Spring Whirlygig .. stitched by Chelsea and finished by me ..

***Please remember if you copy my finishing ideas that you be considerate and give a link to my blog or facebook page..****

We found this vintage trivet at the Good will the last time we shopped there and I thought it would be perfect to change these little cute designs out .. So I broke out the ceramic piece in the center and cut a circle to fit from sticky board and added black gingham to it ..a magnet was glued to the center ..and a washer tot he back of the stitched piece to be able to change it out for the seasons ..
The floss colors she used above  .. it is stitched on 28 count tea/coffee dyed Monaco ..
I cut another circle from sticky board  the size of the design and added 2 layers of quilt batting ... I mounted the stitching on top of the quilt batting and did a running stitch with needle and thread to tie it up in the back .. then hot glued it down . I added Motherlode ric rac from Ladydot creates and ruffled a torn piece of aqua stripe fabric which I glued to the back . I made the bow from 2 different ribbons and added a felt carrot .. The batting just males it a cute little puff ball on top of the trivet..
It is so cute!

Spring Mantel

Good morning friends!
The mantel is all set for spring!
Calvin is upset the mantel is not full of cats :)
Mr. and Mrs. Bunny are sitting right in the middle of the carrot patch!

on the hearth is Welcome Spring from Country Cottage Needleworks ..
The quilt is here
and the granny square blanket is here
**All colored text is clickable to read more about that item **

There are 2 big vintage blue mason jars topped with moss bunnies and the 2 galvanized lantern houses from Walmart in the Fall

On top of the 5 layered garlands I added chicken wire ribbon .. big stems of cherry blossoms and bundles of carrots

a smaller chalkboard points the way to the carrot patch !
It is a grey gloomy day so far but this is a super bright spot of spring in the family room! Thanks so much for stopping by!

We Made Spring Quilts!

Good morning!
We made spring quilts!
These fabrics were given to us by one of our viewers last year and we finally got them made into quilts! Aren't they pretty!

Mine is made out of 4 inch squares.. The fabric bundle came with a lot of brown print fabrics .. so I removed those and added some aqua and of course my favorite black checks! My back is those fabulous black checks and the binding is red checks .. I love it !
Chelsea's is a strip quilt , that we cut the fabric into 2-1/2 inch strips and then added a white jelly roll to .. We did a pattern with the white in the center on all the blocks . We did the quilt as you go method .. and used pre cut batting squares from the Fat Quarter Shop .. these squares are 7-1/2 inches ..There is a video below that we used to make the strip quilt ..
Of course the cutest baby and cutest pup had to be in all the pictures :) We did a scrappy binding on Chelsea's and her backing is a really pretty coral colored floral ..you can see her backing fabric in the first photo
Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Little Bunny Love

Happy Wednesday!

I finished stitching this cute bunny from With Thy Needle and Thread last night and finished it up today ..

***Please remember if you copy my finishing ideas that you be considerate and give a link to my blog or facebook page..****

I stitched it on 28 count evenweave that we dyed aqua with Rit dye and then tea dyed very lightly ..
Of course I changed the colors of floss.. I used all Classic Colorworks in Ladybug, Tartan Plaid, Bean Sprout, Eggshell( I used this for the tail and then added french knots over all the stitches )  ,Coffee Bean , and River Rocks
I found this little lantern like piece at Hobby Lobby a few months ago on clearance for about $1.00.. the lid comes off and has a handle so I attached the bow with a pipe cleaner to the handle. For the bow I used 3 different ribbons .. greenery .. flowers and a burlap bunny ..
I mounted the stitching on sticky board , with 2 layers of batting under the stitching .. Then used another sticky board and covered it with a aqua, blue plaid homespun .. I added 4 blue/ aqua flowers to the top of the plaid covered board and a gingham ribbon tied on the sides and looped under the handle..
I think there are going to be more of these little designs so of course I used magnets to attach it to the little lantern ..

I haven't figured out where this will go in the house .. for now its on the dining room tabel waiting for Saturday :)
Thanks so much for your visits and comments!

.. my chalkboard to cross stitch collaboration with Hands on Design ..the first in the Farmhouse Chalk series

***Please remember if you copy my finishing ideas that you be considerate and give a link to my blog or facebook page..****

I took the bunny to the right of the truck and put him inside the bed of the truck
I stitched it on black 28 count evenweave .. and used Classic Colorworks Rain Shower for the truck

I mounted it on sticky board and added a little tiny torn gingham fabric ruffle ..I used a magnet to attach it to the mini vintage grater

I added a bow to the handle using a pipe cleaner so I can remove it .. The bow has 2 different gingham ribbons and I made a pom pom for the center .. It's a little bunny tail !It is adorable and took hardly any time to stitch!

This is such a cute spring design!
To finish Chelsea's I mounted it on sticky board and added torn ticking in 2 colors .. a faded red and a faded green and I used lots of fabric so they are really flouncy
I used beige buffalo check ribbon .. aqua buffalo check and burlap .. I also added tulips and a little fuzzy chick to the top of the bow ..
The bow and also the stitching are attached using washers and magnets ..the frame is one Chelsea and her husband made from wood trim and chicken wire for the back .. It is adorable !
