A Witch in a Tray

 Happy Sunday!
This is Spirits and Spells from With Thy Needle and Thread..She was one of my maynia starts and makes my 12th Maynia finish out of 31 starts..

I used all Classic Colorworks floss and stitched her on a piece of light grey 28 count evenweave that we dipped in brown Rit dye and then coffee/ tea dyed ..
I found this tray at a thrift store and I chalk painted and distressed it .. I mounted the witch on sticky board with a couple layers of batting. I tore charcoal grey homespun check fabric and glued it on in loops around the piece ..I used small pieces of sticky board stacked up in the bottom of the tray and added a magnet .. a washer was glued to the back of the stitched piece sticky board so I can change it out and use the tray again ..Hopefully for the Santa that is the same shape ..:) I added the bow usiong a pipe cleaner through one of the holes in the tray so that can be changed out too!

***Please remember if you copy my finishing ideas that you be considerate and give a link to my blog or facebook page..****

  1. Love, love, love this! You know, whenever I go shopping (anywhere!) I channel you and think, "I wonder how Priscilla would use this for a cross-stitch finish?"

I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.
