Quilt-A-Rama!

Good morning! There has been some quilting happening around here!I was the lucky recipient of a jelly roll from Fran .. one of our Floss tube viewers.. Thank you again Fran if you read my blog ...it was so kind of you to send that!)so I had to get busy and use that Jelly roll.. :)
I bought 2 white fabric jelly rolls from Joanne Fabrics.. ( who knew they had those ) :)and one more of the Vintage Picnic Rolls to make this twin size quilt .. we made it in 2 days ..could have probably made it in less time but I ran out of fabric and ordered the 2nd jelly roll.. I stitched them on muslin squares ..Chelsea is doing hers on freezer paper but I didn't like that ..so muslin squares were easier for me . This is so easy to make because you go right to sewing .. the only cutting is after you make the squares.
I bought the backing fabric at Joanne fabrics .. not a perfect match but its pretty and spring /summer colors.. I love this quilt and have it draped on the back of the living room sofa ...Chelsea suggested I use the strips sewn together for the binding so that is what I did .. for the quilting I machine quilted the big squares and that is it.. I might go back and do a little more I haven't decided ..
This is Chelsea's string quilt fabrics that she is using .. I am looking for this fabric now to make another quilt with a jelly roll .. This line of fabric is Farmers Daughter.. so pretty!
The quilt I made before that is this one in all the vintage farmhouse looking prints.. muted florals , ticking stripes and gingham fabrics.. I bought all this at Joanne fabrics.. by the time I used my coupons and the sale prices it was very inexpensive.. this is also a twin size quilt .. this one hangs out in the family room ..and Ronnie thinks they are all hers.. I used fabric I had for the back .. a steel grey ticking stripe and red gingham for the binding.

at that same time Chelsea made her red , white and blue quilt ..
and here is Daisy in Chelsea's sewing room showing it off..she used blue checks for the backing , and red gingham for the binding ..

it is beautiful! When we make these quilts it is a team effort .. so we both made all of these..

Lastly the 2 rag quilts and rag quilt doll blankets for Chelsea's stepdaughters... they turned out so pretty! She bought 7 yards of flannel for each ..we cut 9 inch squares and used flannel on the front and back with no batting .. I think I would like to try and make one with 3 layers of flannel.. so that is it !

Hippity Hop Chalkboard

Good morning!
The chalkboard is all set for Spring!
Nothing screams Spring more than a bunny with a fluffy tail  in a carrot patch with a  garland of tulips and carrots!
This chalkboard hangs on the wall into my kitchen from the family room.. I bought the frame at a garage sale and had a board cut to fit and painted that with chalkboard paint..

I erase and redraw for all the seasons and holidays .. So I need to Hippity Hop and get all my chores done!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Spring Galvanized Tiered Tray 2018

Good morning!
Spring has Sprung !
The galvanized tiered tray in my kitchen is all decorated for spring! I don't really decorate for Easter ( we celebrate it) my decor is more Spring so it can stay up until I start the more Summer decorations ..
A cute little Rae Dunn creamer with the bunny on it that I added a nest to ..
The cuteness of these chicks! I found them at Hobby Lobby and love them! I placed a Prairie Schooler bunny on the top of the tray .. I got the idea to stitch this on black from Carol at the Stitching Dream blog ..

 A little Spring chalkboard ...

lots of tulips .. I love the black and white with all the colors added in !
This little wood bunny was from Walmart last year .. I ripped the button and fabric off the front so it is just plain wood..
Painted Mason Jars filled with tulips sit behind the bunny ..
 Thanks so much for visiting!

A Truck Full of Chickens

 Good Morning!
Can you stand the cuteness!?!
This is the little truck from the Fresh Eggs Farm Chart! The chalkboard to cross stitch collaboration between Hands On Design and me !
I used a frame from the thrift store.. mounted red ticking on sticky board and then glued that to the top of the frame .. I then mounted the stitching on sticky board and then hot glued that to the ticking..

Chelsea stitched this last week and I finished it up for her last night .. It is adorable on the coffee / tea dyed fabric! I made the bow from homespun checks and black ticking.. I then covered a button with red homespun checks.. It is adorable! We hope you will join us in our stitch-a- long with the hashtag #pcfresheggsfarm

she used the Classic Colorworks Barn Door , Gentle arts chalk and dmc 844 for the tires..
I made valentine sugar cookies for my little valentines..I spent a couple days this week taking down all the winter decor.. spring decor will be going up soon! All my farmhouse touches are heading back into the kitchen!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Do you all remember when I got the red rooster chalkboard to put my Country Cottage Needleworks cottage of the month pieces on ?
Well... that didn't last too long! I decided I wasn't crazy about them on there .. I had this tray from a flea market this summer and I wanted to use it for something.. I placed this on top and loved it! I added a pretty black gingham bow and a black homespun check covered button .. some magnets to the back of the stitching and L-O-V-E it! When I stitched the cottage of the month I did change the colors on this one ..and I just added the red stripe ticking to the back of it ..

So.. I tried the February Prairie Schooler monthly piece on the rooster  chalkboard and loved that too.. so 2 Redo's! They are the perfect size to fit on the chalkboard!
I will be painting the rooster chalkboard either cream or black as soon as it warms up.. Don't you love them both ?!?
the rest of my Valentine stitching would be the Lovely Home piece I showed you yesterday ..
February form Lizzie Kate ...so sad that she will no longer be designing .. the February Sampler months from Little House Needleworks and Classic Colorworks.. and you can see the way the Prairie Schooler months used to be displayed ..
And lastly the February wordplay from With Thy Needle and Thread..

****Please remember if you copy my finishing ideas that you be considerate and give a link to my blog or facebook page..****

Thanks so much for stopping by ! Hope you have a wonderful Valentine's day with loved ones!
