Last week I was in Michael's and happened top wander into a clearance section and they had these cute clipboard frames for $6.00.
I knew instantly that I wanted to use it for these Country Cottage Needleworks patterns ..( don't mind my bent pattern ..The dog sat on it ) and just not stitch the bottom portion. I wanted the colors to be not so bright so I did change all of them except the browns. I stitched it on my go to for everything :) tea/coffee dyed 28 count Monaco. ( colors I used are ecru,964,3849,224,223,3347,987) I used 1 strand of ecru and 1 strand of 964 to do the insides of the windows..and 1 strand of yellow and one of ecru to do the insides of the flowers.
I love the grey pattern in the back and also the chippy white board it sits on..
I mounted the stitching on sticky needlework board ..then cut a mat a little bigger and used green gingham on that piece .Glued the 2 together and added brown gingham covered buttons.

I love your creativity. I have started cross stitching again after about 30 yrs. Love your style and all of your wonderful groupings, my style too! Thank you so much for the inspiration! Have a great Tuesday and look forward to seeing your Wednsday
ReplyDeleteOh, you have inspired me with this one. I stitched "Spring" a while ago and have never found a frame that worked for it. I may fold the words up and use only the top portion - so creative and darling! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow! You are one fast stitcher, Priscilla--I really like your toned down version without the words, too. As always--your clipboard finishes are the best :)
ReplyDeleteI really like the colors you chose! The clipboard frame looks like it was made especially for it. But gosh I don't think I could finish it in a Sunday.

What a pretty Spring design and I love the clipboard idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute frame! Love the spring design and the colors you used.
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog for a few years now, I absolutely love it. What kind of chalk do you use on your chalkboards?
