R is for Rabbit

Here is my Prairie Schooler  R is for Rabbit finished !
Over the winter I stitched this winter sampler from Little House needleworks.. I used this thrifted frame for that piece and decided to use it again for the Rabbit..
I whitewashed the frame with acrylic paint in tan and off white. I didn't want the whole frame to be white..
I covered a piece of needlework board with the green gingham check and just set it in the frame..I used a magnet on the green fabric and a small piece of sheet metal on the back of the stitching to hold it in place,
This way if I have another design that will fit in the frame I can use it again..and the winter design can go back in it for the winter.
It is on display on a table by the front door in the foyer..with a vintage watering can filled with dried hydrangeas from the garden ..white tulips and a bird in a china cup..

This mornings sunrise with the clouds..all the snow is melted..but we are back to cold temperatures!
A blue hour sunset from the dining room..
My stitching assisitant asleep on the job..

  4. Hi Priscilla! Oh, this is a lovely vignette and I believe this is one of my favorites of your needleworks. I was just thinking if you framed each piece and just kept it, but you answered my question. You really do a great job on your cross stitch.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  7. Beautiful job and GOOD eyes LOL -- I used to do a lot of counted cross stitch on 22 ct -- THAT was a long time ago! Love the way you finished the frame as well.
