I showed you this frame that had been made over to a chalkboard a couple weeks ago.. I wanted a boxwood wreath for it ,but they are so expensive!
So I googled making one.. Martha Stewart has a video on YouTube ..and its so easy !
Here is the chalkboard boxwood wreath ..
this was my first version but I didn't like the big lettering ..
So I took it down this morning and redid it..
To make the wreath you need fresh boxwood ..we have a couple bushes in the yard.. a wire wreath form and floral wire. The wreath form was 2.99 and the wire the same price. All I did was use the wire to wrap the pieces of boxwood to the wreath form .. It took about 15 minutes including the cutting of the boxwood..
Home Sweet Home is written 3 times around the wreathand I finished it off with a Monogram B
I wrapped a small burlap strip around the wreath and stuck it under the frame for the wreath to hang.
Yesterday was my daughters rescue pup Daisy's first birthday .. She made her pup cakes :)
She and all the other dogs loved them !
Thanks so much for all your visits and sweet comments !

Happy Birthday to your daughter's doggie! How sweet and to think he got to eat pup cakes! (That is what my children used to call pancakes - pupcakes! I still call them that at times! ) Your daughter is so pretty too. Now your wreath is adorable and looks good on your chalkboard. I love the entire vignette. What can you not do, sweet friend? :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Everything Shelia said! Sweet that you have boxwood in your yard. Very pretty. We have a rescue Chihuahua pup and keeps our Min Pin hopping along. Kathleen in Az
ReplyDeleteLove your wreath. I looks fabulous hanging on the frame. Genius idea.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that sweet pup now has a loving home! Love your wreath. I have a question ~ will the boxwood stay green or do you have to preserve it somehow?
ReplyDeleteBig Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Very pretty, and happy birthday to the dog! I still have not written anything on my chalkboard. I have terrible handwriting!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
What a fantastic wreath. I have enough boxwoods. I will look that up. The doggie cup cakes are so cute!!
ReplyDeleteyour boxwood wreath and chalkboard frame are perfection!
ReplyDeleteLove it, what a great idea! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your wreath, Priscilla! I do have some boxwood out front and "think" I have a wire wreath frame in the basement (unless my husband through it away!) so maybe I should give this a tree.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is so, so pretty, and I just love her puppy :) Sounds like a great birthday party for him--looks like he can't wait to dig in to those treats!
I love this so much! I don't have boxwoods growing anywhere... I want- very badly....
ReplyDeleteYou think I could attempt with silk/ fakey boxwoods?
Love your Creativity!

Love the wreath and the frame Priscilla. Thank you for linking up this week at Shabbilicious Friday.
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful! I love boxwood wreaths, but they are too expensive! I'll have to hunt for the video, but it looks easy enough! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
