April Showers Bring May Flowers Chalkboard

 Hope you all had wonderful Easter celebrations with your families ! We had a very nice day and had wonderful weather ! We spent most of the day outside .. I needed to redo the seasonal chalkboard since Easter is over , so I decided to go with  April showers bring May flowers. I figure I will keep it up into May and then change it to something patriotic for Memorial day..

 I used some of the youngest grandsons sidewalk chalk for the raindrops and centers of the flowers for a little color.. hard to get those big pieces of chalk to do what you want them to :)

 I am still loving the chalk painted hutch in the kitchen and wish I would have painted the oak years ago ! The inside is the same pale grey that's on the dining room walls and it looks so pretty lit up !

 I need to make a  new table runner and have some ideas that I hope work out :)

 I was trying to finish up this Rabbit Run cross stitch from Prairie Schooler before Easter , but I just haven't had much time to stitch ..I had seen the chart and thought it was ok, then I saw someones finished project on Instagram and knew I had to stitch it ! Hopefully it gets finished before next spring !

My daughter and I walked to the new forest preserve trail last night and then walked the 2 mile trail with the dogs ..It was so pretty in there ..

Easter Sugar Cookies

 I got busy today and made some sugar cookies for Easter .. I didn't do a lot just one double batch of Mrs. Fields sugar cookie recipe..

I love all the Easter colors !

I am trying to decide what the next saying for the seasonal chalkboard will be.. Any suggestions ?

 The kitchen table is set with our everyday Pfaltzgraff dishes , and a little help from a couple Fitz and Floyd pieces. Under the cloche are some vintage family china cups and saucers.. a birds nest and some moss with eggs are resting in a cup..I used some cute gingham towels I got at an estate sale for napkins.. They are all different spring colors.

Bunny Stitching Vignette

 I stitched up this little free bunny cross stitch pattern this week .. I saw this stitched on Carol's blog a couple years ago and loved it ..

I mounted it onto an oval shaped piece of mat board, added some decorative trim .glued some moss to the back of it and hot glued it to a thrift store tray..I added a bow from burlap looking wired ribbon..My daughter gave me two of those small silver trays yesterday that she wasn't using so one of them is being used now !Somebody better take the bag of moss away from me I want to put it everywhere ! :)

 I put it on the chest in the foyer on a little easel..

Isn't it cute ?? It's a very quick to stitch up project you could finish before Easter !

April Cottage Stitching

 Last night I finished stitching the Country Cottage Needleworks April cottage..

 I switched up the colors , because I am not a big fan of purple..I also left off the birds..

 This one is also mounted with a magnet and a piece of sheet metal on the back so I can change it out every month..The frame is a thrift store mirror that I added burlap to and painted..

 I have both of the monthly stitched pieces on the console table in my family room.. Love the way they all look together with a few spring decorative pieces !

 You can see February's and March that I have finished ! Time to get stitching on May designs !

Spring Mantel And A Mossy B

Spring is on the mantel and it all started with the letter B..

I had gotten the wooden B letter from Hobby Lobby last year ..I didn't take a before photo so I got this one off their web site..

It was the turquoise color like the one above..It just was too bright turquoise against the red brick.. My daughter suggested we put moss all over it so that is what we did..

 We used mod podge and a bag of moss and just stuck the moss all over the letter , we left the metal flower on and just stuck the moss under it.. stuck a bunch of books on top of it for weight and it looks amazing !

 I added a metal pot of dried hydrangeas, some mason jars with eggs, a bunny chalkboard..a pitcher with some tulips and a bunny in a wicker basket..

 There you have it .. a little spring on the mantel ! It has actually been in the 50's here so I have been able to get all the flower beds spring cleaned the last few days ! I hate to say it but I can't wait to mow the lawn!

April Stitching

 Good Morning...I finished stitching the April With thy needle and thread wordplay last night ..

 I mounted it to sticky stitching board this morning and added a yellow buffalo check background..

 I used magnets and sheet metal to attach it to the thrift store vintage  tray, painted with chalkboard paint

The bunny on this one is so cute ! You can see the months of  March, February and October ..
