Hello :)
The past couple of days I have been making my spring table runner.. I used muslin for the base and for the bottom ruffle and a small floral print for the top ruffle . I also added the little green pom pom trim. The spring words are stamped with foam stamps, some of them I used fabric paint and freehanded. ( Yes that is subfloor in the background, we are remodeling:)
I used my double deck basket to add some bunnies and florals to , I got the idea from Kristens Creations blog
I used the silver platter I got at Good will to put this Fitz and Floyd bunny teapot , surrounded by florals . I think he makes a great centerpiece.
A little springy vignette by the sink with a basket of those crocheted dishcloths , vintage scale and the metal cloche with a little bird in it. The flowers are still from Valentines day from one of my boys :)
This is the view into my kitchen from the newly enlarged opening in the dining room . It makes it look so much bigger and open. Drywallers are supposed to be here today, they were supposed to start yesterday but with the 12 inches of snow we had it got postponed until today. Hope next time I have some more progress photos !
I started a new blanket. Just can't put that crochet hook down :) Especially to keep me sane with my house totally ripped apart ! I am using 3 colors of turquoise/aqua and 2 colors of a springy green .I got the pattern here .Anyone have suggestions for how they think I should join the squares? I tried the join as you go last night adding another row of the off white but I didn't like it ..Maybe I will do the join as you go and not add another row , just the one row of white >? I used this pattern before to make my daisy blanket ,but didn't add the second row of puffs.
Thank you so much for your visits and nice comments !

Oh my goodness, I LOVE YOUR RUNNER! It is just a perfect "springy" runner. The vignettes look great.
ReplyDeleteLove your runners!! I have looked and looked for large enough stamps to make one...to no avail! One day, would you mind doing a post on the stamps you use? I might have a better chance finding them if I saw them? Michaels doesn't have them, nor does Joanns.
ReplyDeleteLove pom pom finge, it always adds that extra special touch!! I like to use tiered baskets to do centerpieces too, Love your F&F bunny!!
House is coming along! Did you redo your kitchen fairly recently?
Have a good day, and I love your new blankie!!!

ReplyDeleteI am so ready for Spring! Your table runner looks great! Life to the full, Melissa @ DaisyMaeBelle
ReplyDeleteWow. I love your spring table runner! Another reason why this non sewer needs to find a sewing machine at a garage sale this summer. I see them all the time, but pass them up. Not this year. However, not sure I could make ANYTHING like this. I am probably going to have to ask my husband to thread the darn thing for me. Very, very inspirational! Love your kitchen!!

Really pretty tablerunner, Priscilla--you amaze me how you still find time to create amidst the chaos of your renovation :) Your kitchen looks beautiful already and I know you are really looking forward to the new more "open" feeling!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a over the top cutest Spring runner!!! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vingettes and touches abound in your home, no matter the season! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteThat little runner is darling! That was a great idea. Your blanket will be so pretty. I love the colors. I just join them with a single crochet. It is the easiest... but really sturdy to. :)

I LOVE your runner. I want one! It has all of the Spring colors but is so current. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI see that you join quite a number of parties, but was wondering if you'd like to join Seasonal Sundays? The link goes up at 7 pm on Saturday evening and I'd love to have you link this post.

Priscilla, your runners are truly a form of art. You do such an amazing job! Love, love the bunnies in the double basket. The bunnies themselves are so sweet. Everything is just perfect. Kitchen is looking nice. Can't wait to see it completed. They laid tile and started on brick wall and fireplace in my basement today. So exciting to see it coming together. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
