Daisy blanket , African flower blanket and prom

Prom was Saturday and here are my boys with their dates.. They all looked so good !

The daisy blanket is finished! 192 squares ..I think its my favorite blanket so far , until you get further into this post and see the other blanket..:)

I finished crocheting this african flower blanket last year May 6 , I had a deal with my daughter ( since the blanket is for her) that she would sew in all the ends..well she did a few and then it sat on a chair upstairs until this weekend when I finished sewing in all the ends, exactly a year later on May 6 !  Ihttp://priscillas2000.blogspot.com/2011/05/african-flower-doneexcept-for-sewing-in.html ( the original post for the blanket) Its gorgeous finished ! There are 142 hexagons, plus half hexagons..

thanks for coming by !

  2. Oh Priscilla....let's start with the handsome couples going off to Prom!! Such great times those are!!!! Fun for the young people and for the parents too. Hope they had a high time. When our girls were in high school, that business of an "after the prom party" was just getting started. NOTHING doing!! No sir. We would not allow it. By the time our youngest boy was in high school, he went to Prom, but wasn't a big social butterfly like they were, and he didn't even ask to do that. Do kids where you live want to do that too?
    Now...those blankets...let's just say this. BREATHTAKING!!!! Wow.....stunners...both!!!
You should be so proud. And the lucky recipient....oh how fortunate!!!

  3. Blankets...yummmmmmmmeeeee and yummmmmmmmier! (I felt the need to tell you that those yummies were for the blankets - and that I wasn't being a cougar for your cute sons!) LOL Love the prom photos...such treasures. Weren't you JUST taking photos of their first days of school? Geez...where do the years go? My "baby" is scheduled to graduate from college this Saturday. One very nasty exam tonight in a class called "Statistics of Psychology" and the other in the online Excel class I keep referencing...both stand between her and the diploma right now- so prayers are flying from my lips to His ears...and many fingers are crossed. I'll be excited after Wednesday's final final! But back to the blankets. I've always loved the African Flower pattern. I've made a few hexagons of it...but haven't stuck with it long enough to make something. I may need to revisit it some day. I also have the Lollo the Bear pattern (made from African Flower hexes)...I started her and was afraid of her complexity. But I'm a tad more experienced now and need to pick her up again. I'm in LOVE with that bear! Have you ever seen her? If not, check her out! You can search her...she's by "Heidi Bears".

  4. Absolutely beautiful blankets. How many hexies did you do and big is your blanket? As I am just a beginner I was wondering if this pattern is simple? Love your work

  11. Oh, Priscilla! The daisy blanket is SO PRETTY! It's just wonderful. I know a lot of work went into it. It's so big too! Your edging turned out great. I love seeing different edging patterns. They are always so much fun to do for me. Love the African hexies too!
