I saw this adorable snowman Christmas tree on Pinterest and knew I had to try to make him. I had a 4 ft tree leftover from one of my boys rooms so thats what I used.
I fluffed up the bottom layer of branches ,then the next row I bunched up and stuffed with fiberfill then wrapped with muslin ( to make the first ball).I used my stapler in the back to connect the muslin..Worked great but it has to be against the wall ! You do that 3 times and you have a snowman ! After the bottom ball is finished, drop down the next row of branches, then bunch up a row of branches for the second ball. Make the same way as the bottom ball. drop down another row of branches , then bend the rest of the tree to make the head.
I made the hat out of doubled felt.Hot glued ( no sewing )2 kinds of ribbon for the bow and some real evergreen branches for trim. buttons for eyes and mouth .I did sew the nose out of felt. I used one strand of colored lights, then went to the Dollar Tree store and bought 2 pkg of snowflake ornaments, and 3 pointsettia picks..I just layed the flowers and snowflakes in the branches. So cute !
For my 4 ft, tree, the bottom row is tree, then a ball, more tree, another ball, more tree, ball then hat. I left the top part of the tree sticking up to hold the hat . I cut 2 circles the same size and glued them together for the brim. I took 2 rectangles , sorry didn't measure, glued together to make it stiffer for the top part of hat .Then I glued on a circle to cover the top of hat. Took hot glue along the edge of brim and top of hat and sprinkled with white snow like glitter. I also cut two small branches from a tree for the arms.
I am also still cross stitching a stocking and started this Lizzie Kate abc Christmas..I know both the cross stitch projects won't be done before Christmas .
What a cute snowman tree! Thanks for linking to the Christmas Tree party!
