Chalkfull.. Hip Hop !

Good morning! Look!

I am so excited to share the next Chalkfull Jar! Hip Hop! 

 This is my chalkboard to cross stitch collaboration with Hands On Design  .. 

This is #5 in a series of 7 ..

The chalkboard that hung in my home last spring .. a jar full of bunnies and carrots ! 

I used the same enamel  finishing pieces I have used for all of the designs..

I mounted the stitching on sticky board and mounted black buffalo check on sticky board .. and glued the two pieces together ..I made a bow from aqua check ribbon and black and white check ribbon ..I found the bunny at Hobby Lobby and added an aqua check covered button to his tie.. 

For the small design .. I used the same enamel bucket .. cut my sticky board in an oval shape .. I added 2 layers of batting underneath the stitching ..A black and white buffalo check ruffle was added around the back ..I then gathered orange gingham ribbon and twisted it while attaching to the piece ..The little chalkboard bunny was from Target several years ago ..

This is Cathy's and the cover for the chart ..They ship to shops next week so get ready to stitch some adorable bunnies!

Bloomtopia

Good morning! 

Have you heard about Bloomtopia ? This is Kimberly's stitching and my finishing 

The stitch a long with Fat Quarter Shop to benefit Make a Wish ?

I got my supplies all ready yesterday ..I am using barn board check 32 count fabric.. and Classic Colorworks floss in the colors Black Coffee..Eggshell..  Old Blue Jeans .. Rainshower.. Queen Bee ..Bean Sprout .. Persimmon .. Blushing Beauty .. and Ladybug ..all of these floss colors are in our fancy floss favorites except Blushing Beauty

aren't the colors beautiful? 

Chelsea is stitching hers on black 28 count .. with Classic Colorworks ..River Rocks .. Tennessee Red Clay .. Tea and Biscuits.. Bamboo.. Chopped Chives.. Fools Gold .. St, Bernard.. Ladybug and Rain shower

We both have the first section completed and it was really quick so you can fit this into your plans very easily! We hope you join us!

Christmas ABC #3

Good morning!

This is the third time I have finished a piece from the Prairie Schooler Christmas Alphabet ..This is Kimberly's stitching from The Fat Quarter Shop and my finishing ..

I stitched the word Christmas from the alphabet and here is that finish 

This was Chelsea's who also stitched "CHRISTMAS" 

We used the floss from our Be Merry floss pack

I found the finishing frame at Hobby Lobby .. I mounted the stitching to sticky board .. and mounted black buffalo check to another piece of sticky board . Then glued the 2 pieces together . I glued that to the back of the frame .. and then added large Lori Holt vintage trim in Riley Red over the top with cloud vintage trim on top of that

I made the bow with red and black buffalo check ribbon and white ribbon with black stitch lines .. a large glitter snowflake .. a deer ornament and a vintage Santa head top off the bow . I then added flocked greenery to the back of the bow ..

Frosty’s Night Out

Happy Sunday friends! 

Isn't this just the sweetest .. This is Frosty's Night out from Blackbird designs.. 

The finishing enamel piece I found at Hobby Lobby a couple years ago on clearance .. I think it was supposed to hold a clock in the center but it was empty and really cheap :)I was thrilled when upon inspection the design would fit ! It was too big to be mounted inside the circle so I mounted it on top of the circle using magnets which attach to the enamel piece . I can then use the finishing piece for another design when I find one that will fit ..

I stitched it on 28 count evenweave that I Rit dyed ( I think with both Denim blue and Aqua ) then coffee tea dyed ..I used all Classic Colorworks .. Black Coffee,, Muddy Puddle Licorice Red , Rain Shower, Pea Pod, Pine Needles Tea and Biscuits and Khaki Mocha , Pumpkin Harvest .. For finishing I just added a buffalo check ruffle around the piece and made a bow from 2 different ribbons with flocked greenery and a painted snowflake that I wired to the top of the handle ..

I am thrilled to have him to display during this "snowman season " so I was auditioning him around different areas in the house .. Where do you like him best ?

Chalkfull Snowy 2

Happy Monday !
This is Snowy Chalkfull .. my chalkboard to cross stitch collaboration with Hands on Design .. This is Kimberly's from The Fat Quarter Shop that she stitched and I finished ..

Fat Quarter shop has a club for the Chalkfull series so she used fabric ( 14 count chalkboard Aida) and all the called for floss .. I found this aqua frame at Hobby Lobby .. It is a picture frame so I took out the glass.. mounted a red gingham check fabric on sticky board and stuck that over the frame opening .. Then mounted the stitching on sticky board .. and glued that to the top of the red gingham piece ..  I made a bow from aqua gingham ribbon and red ticking stripe ribbon .. added another bow made for Lori Holt vintage trim and topped it with a red polka dot covered button ..some greenery picks were tucked in behind the bow .. Love how it is so bright for our dreary winter!

This is my Snowy .. mounted on the enamel piece I have used for the series ..

The crew has been hard at work on the next "jar" the jar portion is almost finished ... it is adorable and I cannot wait for you to see it!

Hello Winter!

Happy Wednesday!
The chalkboard in the kitchen is all ready for winter !

Ronnie is all kinds of appalled that Calvin is on the chalkboard and she is not :) This chalkboard gets changed out for all the seasons and holidays..
boy oh boy .. I hated to erase that Christmas one .. But this one is just as cute and festive!

a snowman .. a snowkitty ..and a snowchicken all welcome winter ...with the snow falling around them ..
 Calvin is perched on the snowman's head ..keeping watch for his next victim !

The frame is vintage .. a piece I found thrifting ..

Calvin of course loves the chalkboard ..Ronnie and Piper .. not so much !
