Chelsea's Stars and Stripes

 Happy Saturday!
This is Chelsea's version of Stars and Stripes from Little house Needleworks ..stitched on light grey tea/ coffee dyed 28 count monaco..

she left off the border and changed the word color to blue ..it is stitched in all DMC called for colors ..I mounted it on sticky board and used a decorative block I found on clearance for less than $2.00 ..I added gathered homespun and a bow at the top with a covered button ..

I stitched this design years ago and it is stitched on aida.. I love her changes and almost want to stitch it again!

Patriotic Vintage Truck Chalkboard Mantel

Good morning! 

The mantel is all red, white and blued up!

I changed up the springy truck chalkboard by adding flags and stars and buntings .. I also colored the  flowers red...

 A piece of  vintage picket fence holds another chalkboard

 a flag garland, daisy garland, cotton stem garland and chicken wire ribbon make up the garlands on top of them mantel.. a vintage truck sits front and center with a chicken peeking out.. a vintage scale ..mason jars ..vintage chickens and a couple lanterns topped with chicken wire ribbons ...and to complete the decor ... a dog and a mean cat :)

Stars and Stripes Forever

Good morning! 

I finished stitched Bent Creek Stars and Stripes yesterday and finished it up last night!

I LOVE IT!

 
Remember this Bent Creek Halloween piece that I mounted on a vintage window?

 I was so happy to see this row was the same size .. and set right out to finish it!

 I mounted the stitching on sticky board ..of course :) then added some homespun dark red gingham checks, that I tore and glued down on the back ..

 I made a bunting from navy ticking ... added some of the Lady dot creates rick rack in Motherlode (gold) cut stars out of the homespun that i had applied interfacing to ...and covered 3 buttons in a patriotic plaid homespun ..1 large for the middle and 2 small .. I tied the bunting on so I can use the window for other designs..

 I think it is going to be displayed in the top of the hutch in the family room ..

 I used these 4 classic Colorworks color floss..Blue corn , Toasted Marshmallow, Barn Door and Honeycomb ..I did the Honeycomb instead of the greyish green that had charted..

A Basketfull of Summer..

Happy Sunday friends! 

With Thy Needle and Thread basketfull of summer is finished!

Remember basketfull of spring ?

 I used the same galvanized metal pedestal frame ..

all the floss I used from Classic Colorworks .. love the Lemon grass for the greenery and I also switched up the dog to look like Ronnie ..

 I mounted the stitching on sticky board and also mounted some blue plaid homespun on sticky board .. glued them together and added a magnet to the back for easy switching out .. Hope the other 2 seasons will be coming!

Sweet Land of Liberty...

Happy Saturday! 

Here is my finished Blackbird Designs Sweet Land Of Liberty ..

This was one of my stitchmaynia starts and my 3rd stitchmaynia finish .. I stitched it on 28 count coffee tea dyed Monaco .. 

 I used all Classic Colorworks floss and the colors used are shown above..

 I mounted the stitching to sticky board .. mounted some red/blue homespun check onto sticky board .. attached the 2 pieces together using hot glue and hot glued it to a piece of vintage barn wood.. I used a navy plaid homespun in a strip on the side with a twine bow wrapped around it .. I cut  a star from another homespun pattern and glued it to the bow ..

Strawberry Freezer Jam

We picked strawberries and made freezer jam! 

 All together we made 48 containers of strawberry freezer jam that Chelsea and I split ..

we use this Sure Jell pectin and the directions inside for freezer jam..

you wash and remove the stems from the berries.. then smash with a potato masher  ..

mix the berries with sugar 

 Then cook the pectin as directed .. and mix with berries .. then you  add to your containers and it stays good in the freezer for a year .. If it lasts that long! :)

Patriotic Row For Baby

Happy Sunday!

This is Bent Creek Patriotic Row .. stitched by Chelsea and finished by me ..

 This is for the new baby boy's room .. I mounted the stitching on sticky board .. then added some Lady Dot Creates Vanilla Ric Rac ..

 I used plaid homespun for the background and then mounted on some vintage barn wood we found at a flea market ..

 we ironed on interfacing to homespun and then cut stars from it to make a garland for the top ...all the fabrics were used in the rag crib quilt we made

 It is awesome.. and will look so nice in the nursery!

Bees, Bees Bees!

Happy Saturday Friends!

I finished Country Cottage Needleworks A Beeline this week and finished it up for display last night..

 I found this pedestal chalkboard at Michael's a couple years ago ..It had a Christmas flower on the bottom that I covered with chalkboard paint .. I used magnets and washers to attach to the chalkboard so I can change it out..This was my stitchmaynia start for day 1 .. and my 2nd stitchmaynia finish ..

 These are the colors I used ...I changed the bees to standing and also left off the alphabet on the bottom .. I made the flower centers rounded like coneflowers..

 It looks so cute with all my bee decorations! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Patriotic Hutch

 Happy Monday Friends!
I thought I would show you the hutch I got from Craigslist all decorated up for the patriotic season!
Remember when I got it it was a hunter green color .. and I chalk painted and distressed it ..
